NEED RECOMMENDATION: 1974 Schwinn Le Tour Tires

Hi there,
I'm a beginner a fixing up old bikes. What new tires should I purchase for a classic 1974 Schwinn Le Tour (without breaking the bank)? Would you recommend these Kenda K35 27x1-1/4 Classic Road Bike Tire? I live in a city and it's common to encounter glass and stuff like that. I want durable road tires.

Thank you!

Welcome. The K35's are cheap and cheerful, but don't offer much in the way of puncture protection.

For that, you'd need a Continental Gatorskin, Specialized Armadillo or similar with a extra layer of Kevlar in the tire. Much more expensive than the K35's.

If you do your best to avoid road hazards you can see, you can probably get away with the K35's. Otherwise get the Kevlar tires.

These Schwalbe tires are what I recommend. Kenda K35's aren't bad mind, but they're absolutely as basic as it gets. For just a couple bucks more you can have a modern puncture resistant tire.
