Garage Organization and Pics?
I am looking at re-organizing my garage and need some tips and hints and mostly some pics to get some good ideas. I have a 2 car garage right now and 5 bikes to go into it along with all the typical house and lawn items. Need some help with pics and ideas?

I hang two of my bikes off of two big hooks that I bought at Home Depot for $8. I just put the rear tire in the hook and let them rest against the wall. They are on both sides of my washer and dryer well out of the way.

Without taking anything away from the numerous threads on those sites, I will suggest the following:
#1 - De-clutter. This menas buy some storage bins for the stuff you intend to keep and discard the stuff you really don't need/want anymore.
#2 - Build some storage racks/cabinets that are sufficient to hold these bins. Doors will hide the stuff, but will require clearance to open. Make certain that shelves are strong enough to not sag in the center when loaded down.
#3 - Hang/store as much as you can from rafters (like holiday decorations, etc.) above the garage door.
#4 - Hanging bikes from hooks (as previously suggested) is a great way to keep them off the floor, but they can easily become a "head knocker" if you don't put them in the right place.
#5 - Plan your layout and 'traffic flow' in & out of the garage carefully to avoid having to climb over or around things.
#6 - "Offset" your car parking to one side if possible to give a wide path for bike retrieval. Nothing worse than scratching your car with your bike.

at the end of the day you just have to spend some quality time in your garage with a clear head, only then will it happen.
