opinion about what to do about my Mercian and my quest for a smaller qill stem.

Hi all,

First off I apologize if I posted to the wrong forum. Here's my dilema. Last year I bought a 1985 Mercian Tourer off a gentleman in Indiana. It was a little too big for me but I figured I could adjust it (price was too good couldn't pass it up). So here's the dilema. I want to put a smaller stem on it and low and behold it has the 1980's vintage Cinelli handlebars and stem (diameter 26.4mm). The size stem I need is going to be around 75-80mm anybody know where I can get one of these or should I just bag it and get a nitto stem and a new set of handlebars and just call it quits. Opinions, thoughts?

Thanks,

Roland

This is definitely the right forum. Ebay should have a lot of these stems.

yes, you can even save a search on ebay and they'll email you when stuff goes up for sale.

these are going cheap. I just sold a nice wide (46cm c-c) drop bar with 26.4 Cinelli in great shape for only $10 together.
