Right, there are several threads with ghost pages (always the posts with many pages) at the end. No big deal, just one of the quirks of BF. I've just realized an easy way to tell if you're on one of these long posts that works if you're on a PC with numbered pages. My set up is for 25 posts per page, so for example posts #26 , #51 etc. start a new page. If the last post is divisible by 25, then there probably is another real post on the next page.

Lets do something about getting start dates back on the original post !
