Did tabata on the fan bike

Last interval I went

at Max for 20 seconds

400 watts

26 mph

Can't imagine sustaining that on any level

In the TT I was in last year there was a guy in his late 20s who's average speed for the 20 kilometers was 29.8mph, ten mph faster than my average. Imagine that.

An average pro cyclist can sustain 400W for an hour or more. As a very average club level rider!racer training consistently, I can manage about 5 mins at that power. It puts things into perspective.

Fan bike training made my ride yesterday feel easier in certain sections.

That's 20 kilometers in about 26 minutes, at 48 kph.

Assuming a good time trial bike with a good rider position, and a flat course with no wind, that would require ~350 watts. About what a solid cat 2 amateur can do.

I feel safe with your 20 second power being that low.

But good for you if you are improving.
