It's difficult (for me) to put a price on that bike. The bad news is old MTBs bring about $100 to $125 if they're in good condition. But the old Hoo Koo E Koo's bring a bit more. I had 97 that I sold to a guy who begged me to sell it for $150. That would have been top dollar for any other MTB bike that age, but the Hoo Koo E Koo and Stumpy have a cult following.
The model you are referring to is a true collectible. You might want to do a search on BF to see if you can find another reference to that bike. Try limiting the search to C&V. I would not be surprised to see the bike you're referring to go for $300 or more. But I'm not an expert.

I would pay $150 max for a regular Hoo Koo E Koo in very good condition. Back in the day we had all kinds of stoners come in to buy the GD edition HKEK. Buisness men stoners, regular stoners......but not 1 non-stoner. If I remember correctly we sold them for a $75-100 premium and sold every one we could get.
So...how much for a NOS GD HKEK? $300-500. I say $300-500 because I'd pay that for one if I could find one. 19's are not a desireable size.
The HKEK is a bike Gary fisher did right, uts was a great price point, had good components and high end geometry.

I would sell my bike that's never even been sat on or ridden. All parts original. I will only sell it to a Dead Museum and the only price I have is 6 ounces of Gold. Poster, authenticity certificate, and original receipt purchased on the day Jerry Garcia died.

You probably should contact the Dead Museums directly with your offer. They may not have staff scanning BF for potential acquisitions.

I never realized they had that big of a connection to the Grateful Dead. Unless you find someone dying to have one in (no no pun intended) mint condition your not likely to really cash in on it. The Hoo Koo E Koo was a good bread and butter MTB and being in a major college town we sold a lot of them when I worked at a shop in Boston.

I had one come into our shop not too long ago. Dude said he bought it for 350 off Craigslist. It looked pretty decent besides the unavoidable corrosion to the seats/grips/cable lines exc.

Trek 420
The Trek 420 was ok back when I used to set them up. The only continuous problem I got with them was the cable anchor bolt on both of the brakes. On hard braking the cable would pull through unless something was done to fix it.

The only problem I ever had with a 420 was cleaning all that sticky gick out of the stem.
