Is this a good buy? How much should a bike like this cost?

Do you even know if the frame is a good fit for you? If you know what size you need, there are a number of SS/FG new bikes to be had cheaper. https://www.bikesdirect.com/products/trackbikes.htm

I haven't asked him about the size yet.
My last bike was from bikesdirect, I bought the motobeccan track, it was a really nice bike and loved it, but it was on the back of my friend's jeep and was totaled in an accident.
So I figured
I really don't like how plain bikesdirect's bikes look though.

It's a little overpriced, but that's a decent frame and a good wheelset. Offer $450 and be ready to walk away if he says no deal.
