New to this --- from Houston, TX

My name is Kim, I love to ride my bike for exercise, its just a basic used hybrid. I'm not a competitor, but I like to work on my fitness. I've not really ridden much since my summer break (I teach animation in high school). Yesterday, my partner and I had the opportunity to try a tandem bike and LOVED it. Usually we struggle with me leaving her behind and then she's annoyed. This way we were together and could talk, look around, and push each other. We're going to test drive it one more time this coming weekend, but we're also planning to find a used tandem. We're considering doing a long ride in the future, but right now just focused on fitness and enjoying ourselves.

Welcome! My wife and I started riding tandems in 1983 and are still at it.

By the way, there was just a big tandem rally recently near you put on by the local tandem club - Houstonions On Tandems Together or more commonly known as HOTT. You might want to look them up on the web.

welcome, you made a good choice, meaning this is an active forum! not much riding since summer break in Houston? I'd think you'd ride less during the summer down there
