This is turning out to be a poor commuting week for me. I've missed riding the past three days due to a colonoscopy procedure but plan to be back in the saddle tomorrow. Hopefully the saddle will be comfortable.

Share the road.
Haven't posted in a while, so here goes. I couldn't see through my Windwrap fairing because of it frosting up. I had to look at the white line for about 7 miles. On the way I was flying, cutting of fifteen minutes from my normal time. The conditions this morning was 46 degrees and really dark. This afternoon it was breezy with temperature getting up to 60 degrees.

Working 3 - 11pm, so afternoon sun and 55F was nice on the 15 mile ride in. Except, I've been feeling dizzy lately and even after the ride in still didn't feel good. So, turned around and headed back home.
Great day for riding, just need to start feeling better soon.

Spring marches on but a strong headwind made the ride a sloweer one. Monday morning will be dark again as we set clocks ahead one hour.

Very windy, cloudy, peaks of sun. Took me alot longer today. Good part is, no snow, not much ice and fairly dry.

Back in the saddle today after three days off. It felt good to be riding again, but the weather was cold and windy. Early spring weather can be very challenging, with stiff winds and cold mornings. The wind has been blowing out of the west very persistently lately, and that is the hardest direction for my commute. Although my route runs generally north to south, it starts and ends with about 2 miles heading due west. So, when the wind is blowing out of the west, I have to start and end the ride with tough headwinds and ride most of the way with crosswinds. When the wind is blowing out of the north or south, I get tailwinds on at least one leg of my commute.

Praise the Lord Baby Jesus!!!
the wind finally decided to calm the f--- down!
after 4 mornings of 20-30 knot headwinds out of the north this week, it was blessedly calm and mellow today.
calm air is such a delight.

Sunny and clear 26F, snow still piled around but roads and path pretty clear, just some patchy ice. The key is sunny at 7:30a, before DST even kicks in! It may actually be time to break out the sunglasses for the ride IN to work. Can slick tires really be in the near future?

Not very cold, but very windy! Crossing the Potomac on the 14th St. Bridge was quite the struggle to stay upright, pointed in the right direction, and moving forward.
Otherwise, though, it was just fine.

40F and gray, and fantastic. My 1st commute since getting hit by a car in August. Going to stay a fair-weather commuter until Fall, then see if I have what it takes to resume year-rounding it.

The weather clearing up, warming up, it was a great ride this morning. I had a personal record for the year, for the morning leg - under 30 minutes between parking lots.

I think your winds just moved down South. It is really blowing in NC today, and has been all week. We had wind gusts near 50 mph on Wednesday. Today they are a mere 30 mph, but I am riding into headwinds nearly all the way home.

Sunny and 45F when I left the house. Couldn't be nicer. I was too busy admiring the day at a traffic light and didn't unclip. Fell over in slow motion for the entertainment of a few motorists. I was actually laughing out loud at myself before I hit the ground. Not a graceful landing. No harm done though past a bump on my knee and ego.

Beautiful spring day! I took the road bike for the first time since October. Woah, that feels different.

Took the long way in this morning, a route that includes a mile or so of gravel road on a levee.

So yesterday I had an experience that reaffirms my faith in biking...at a brunch in DC our group waited 45 minutes as one of the party searched for a parking spot...he and his wife live close to me and could have easily taken public tranportation (as I did along with a bike share)......poor guy was so annoyed I think he juyst wanted to go back home.
+45F/7C, broke out the riding shorts for the inbound commute asnd spotted three other bikes on my route.
