How Much is this Raleigh Superbe Worth - Portland "Hot" Bike Market
I've been looking for a nicer quality English 3 speed, and saw these "his" & "hers" Raleigh Superbes on the local CL. They're willing to sell seperately for $375/ea. That seems steep to me, even in my market.
Here's the link:
Raleigh Superbe set of vintage bikes, will sell separately
So what would be a fair/reasonable price for this bike?
Thanks kindly.

Humm, 375 each or 800 for both. Thats 750 if you buy them both separately. As a rider, seems high to me, but others will know collector value far better than I.

Make sure you buy both of them separately & save $50. Seriously, they look really nice and, somebody will probably pay that price. Good luck.

Hard to sell at this price. I sold one two years ago for 250$, good condition, after posting it for one month.
They apered two more after mine, asking arround 350...400$, then going down under 280.
I wouldn't pay so much. The ladies doesn't have the front dynohub.

Still learning
Go see it, ride it, then decide if you want it. If yes, but not at $375, tell the seller what you are prepared to pay, and if he doesn't bite, and after a few days/weeks its still available, he can contact you or you can follow up.

If it really is in showroom condition as stated, and everything has been relubed and is ride ready, then the $375 is do-able for PDX. Atleast for the men's, as marius stated i think the ladies' might be missing stuff.
Mind you, I would never pay that. But if that's the kind of bike YOU want.......

The prices seem a bit high exspecialy for the Women's. They look to be in just Ok condition like they have been stored inside for a long long time and just nicely cleaned will likely need all new consumables and full service. Also note that the supposed perfect chrome has visible rust in several of the photo's. I would say considering the market $225 on the Womens and $300 on the men's which is a lot more than I would pay for either.

I don't think I've ever actually seen a Raleigh 3spd townie bike sell for over $200. I've seen people value them higher, but, at least near me, they sit at non-basic transport pricing.

I think it is comical that the seller states: "no oil leaks". He must not have ever had one of these.

Its condition, condition , condition
I just turned down a matching pair for 250 cause they were kind a rough. If the Brooks saddle has a rip around the rivits, it is basically junk. The pair I saw had everything on them , but headlights rusty beyond salvaging. If they are in very good conditon then I think 350 each is ok. No permenant rust, no missing original parts no destroyed pedals.
I would offer 600 for the pair, they are worth that for sure. I have seen the mens ones in that condition go for 400.
You couldnt touch those in my market for anything under 600, noway
And actually they do leak if you over fill the SA hubs, its harmless over flow
