Hello. This might be the right forum for a question that probably gets asked all the time...I figured it's worth a shot.

Seeking recommendation for women's bike/frame. She is 5'7" (long legs) lanky body :-)

mandatory: disc brakes, steel frame, relaxed geometry

Thank You for your posts.

A 5’7” person doesn’t need a “women’s bike.” Any frame that she likes can be purchased in a size that will fit (54, M, etc... depends on the manufacturer).

+1 she should be a fairly common size.

Say what you will about Specialized, but they recently did away with "women's specific" sizes and started offering a wider variety of sizes across the board, based on years of data from their proprietary fitting system in which they realized it wasn't a gender thing so much as a "people come in all sorts of different sizes" thing.

+1 on “women’s bikes.”

I would check out the Adventure Cycling reviews to see what steel disk bikes are available. I recently bought a Trek 520 disk frame, and I know that Masi, All City, Soma, and other makers offer steel with disks.
