Parts Match Up Thread?
-----
Perhaps longtime members can recall if the forum has ever had a parts match up thread wherein posters with unmated bits which are normally used in pairs could make postings. If there is not one I was thinking maybe we could ask the mods if we could begin a stickie for such a thread. It would be of greatest use if we could subdivide it into categories for pedals, crank arms, brake levers, brake calipers, hubs, etc.
No doubt we all have plenty of unmated items snoozing away in our respective parts bins...thinking thoughts such as "...well maybe one day I'll find a mate for this OFMEGA Mistral crank arm.." Knowing that in reality its a bit like a poker player hoping to fill an inside straight. Well, actually the poker player's odds are probably a good deal better.

I think this covers it. https://www.bikeforums.net/classic-v...-part-5-a.html
IMHO the bigger issue is searching that thread. Someone may have posted a 39T Super Record ring for trade 6 months ago but that ipost may be impossible to locate now.

Somebody here created a spreadsheet for orphaned parts, I'll try to find it.

That has the potential to be awesome, but as with all things computer based, it's only as good as the info inserted. I'm starting now...
I've wondered (usually late at night) if it would be possible to do the same with frame numbers as an aide to identifying brands or builders or whatever. I think that might be a wish too far.

Otherwise, what is the difference between that and the right?
I suppose I have a pile of stuff that I've acquired that I'm not actively trying to sell, but could be re-homed in the right circumstances. So, perhaps I should pay a bit more attention to the ISO pages.

Still hoping to find a Zeus brake cable adjuster. Good trades available for a shiny one. Very good trades, I NEED this.
