Other than Zero Gravity, who makes a lightweight brake?
Been reading about Zero Gravity at Road biker review and apparently in addition to their ridiculous $400 price tag, ZG ti's are a pain to install and adjust- they are very tempermental compared to Dura-Ace
The Shimano weight is about 320g a pair and the ZG's are like 168g a set. Anything around 220g that is a decent brake?

Bikes: highly modified specialized crossroads and GT hybrid (really a [formerly] 12-speed bmx cruiser, made before 'hybrid' took on its current meaning), as yet unmodified redline 925, couple of other projects

go to www.weightweenies.com, click on "listings" at the top of the page, then click on any component you're interested in and they have the advertised & actual weights listed plus some websites where the components can be bought.

Cane Creek makes a fairly light single pivot brake.

Campy Record for sure. They are titanium and, unlike the Zero G, they work really well at stopping the bike. However, they will be a hassle to use with a Shimano system because they don't have release levers to loosen them for mounting and dismounting wheels. Campy has the releases in the control units rather than on the brake calipers.

I have a set of Zero Gravity brakes, and they stop my bike just as good or better than all of my Campy brakes and Shimano brakes I have tested to date.

M5 and Ax both have crazylight brakes as well. But I can tell you that the ZGs are not hard to install or adjust. I love mine. There is also a Stainless Steel version that is only slightly heavier and a lot less expensive.

I just grab my front wheel when I want to slow down. Weight: about 220 lbs. (my hand wouldn't be there without the rest of my weighty self).
Point is: those who sweat a few dozen grams on bike parts are focused on the wrong things. Spend your money on things that will last, and spend your time on getting fit.

Nobody has mentioned M5 yet? They're about the same weight as Zero Gravity (and cost 300 euros). The Mavic brakes can only be used with Campy levers, they don't have a quick release for the cable tension. Unless you want to carry around a hex key to release the brake when you want to take a tire out...

I will say that, as upgrades go, putting these on my bike was, in a word, “noticeable”. Noticeable not for the weight savings, which is substantial compared to Record or Dura Ace, but for the immediate responsiveness they have

I love how people say ZG stop better than Campy and Shimano. It is not possible for them to have the same clampin force as either since they are single pivot. Argue all you want but that is just the facts. I am not saying they don't stop the bike well but to say they stop better is just silly.
P.S. Does not mean I am not thinking about ordering a pair just because my bike is now 15.8 and I am working towards the magical 15lb mark.
