Nice looking Raleigh Gran Sport, not a lot of money...NYC area

Doesn't have the Campy goodies the (now sold) Philly CL Gran Sport had, but...paint looks good
and it needs to be saved from fyxhay doom.

Outside of this forum - not a ton of love for these. Ebay prices are even cheap. This guy started at $250 and has steadily dropped

I'm happy to learn that so many folks are able to pass on what would ordinarily be a must-have bike. I feel like I reached a real milestone in maturity when I became able to do that.

^^^ I'm mostly just out of space. The Mooney would like be right in my wheelhouse, on both size as well as American builder (the somewhat central focus of my collection).

Passing by this open window.

I had seen the Bianchi you posted, and was hesitant about posting as I'd want it for parts, but it's my size, so probably wouldn't be able to bring myself to gut it. I am interested in it even though I have the Lotus Odyssey. I'll probably write the owner. Okay, fine, I haven't quite "reached that milestone in maturity."

I am resisting, now that you've posted it, so thanks for that?)

A hair too big for me, I think. Otherwise, I'd be asking a lot of questions about this one.

https://chicago.craigslist.org/chc/b...936850981.html

Medici Pro Strada, 64 cm, lugged steel - $500 (Wicker Park)

If you ever wanted a classic lugged steel bike, this is your chance. The frame and original fork are in good shape, paint shows some wear. Everything on it is top notch.

-Dura-Ace: Derailleurs, shifters, crank, brakes
-Campy: Headset, dropouts
-Cinelli: Bars, stem
-Phil Wood: Hubs
-Selle Italia: Leather Turbo Special (has some cracks, it’s 30+years old)

It is too large for me and I don't really ride it much. Brake pads will need to be replaced soon. Doesn’t include pedals

For those of you that don't know about Medici...Masi of Italy decided to open a California manufacturing facility in the 70's. A very famous bike builder named Mario Confente built the bikes for Masi, designed the luggs and trained thestaff before he left to build bikes on his own (Confente's are some of the mostexpensive you can buy). Masi California fell apart and the staff started Medici. The Masi Grand Criteriums were the top-end standard for that timeperiod and there are many similarities between it and the Pro-Strada. Here isyour chance to own a classic.

The Masi / Medici story is quite interesting and there is lot to read on Google.
