Where, exactly, in NC are you?

This is a great idea!

Are there a couple of C&V members from the UK willing to step up to the plate to assist forum mmbers on this side of the pond?

I personally have encountered so many e-Bay UK sellers reluctant to ship to the US, and there are so many nice vintage parts for English made bikes that are difficult to find here.

I'm willing to facilitate from Ann Arbor, MI. The scope (bike shipping, negotiating, whatever) is open, but I don't have infinite time available to me. Best way to make contact is to PM me with your need and phone number, then we'll talk and figure it out.

I've found a very good place here to pack bikes - did an excellent job for my cousin for $45, and they understand about the cost of exceeding girth limitations!

I haven't mentally sorted out how I might be affected from a liability point of view.

Here's the info:

Secondary CL Cities: Detroit, Brighton, Toledo, Jackson
Items willing to facilitate: small items up to whole bikes

UPDATE: With my current job and home workload, I really don't see finding time to provide any assistance beyond perhaps looking at an item and reporting my impression of it. Even that is a chunk of time, and I can't promise to "do it right away." I think I need to be NOT A FACILITATOR.

If there's a way to be taken off the list of willing assistants, I need it to be done.

I can do general Anchorage area, or even the Mat-Su Valley for special situations. I work a bunch, but can work things into schedule as need be. Shipping in and out of this state can be complicated and expensive, but I have done everything from chainring bolts to wheels to entire bikes.

All, thanks so much for the continued response to this thread. I had considered asking the mods to go ahead and unsticky it but we seem to have folks trickle in on a somewhat regular basis.

For those of us all who are crazy enough to search for our needs (er, wants ) all over the country, I think this thread will be a continuing resource.

Thanks again to all of you willing to help out fellow BFers.

Sorry, nothing from that side of the channel in my pile at the moment. I do have a 72 PX-10 and an Austro-Daimler SLE that I'm not keeping. And I have a bent Miyata 310 fork that needs fixing.

Any nice 64+ cm frames out there?

Items willing to facilitate: anything (within reason) that will be accepted by household movers, assuming the item can be picked up by its new owner in Michigan.
Special Notes: I will be moving house sometime in the spring from Fort Collins to somewhere in Macomb County, MI.

Sorry, offer has expired - my household move is completed

Secondary CL Cities: Anywhere up to about a 75-mile radius of the metro area. I am willing and sometimes able to facilitate, and have the skills to correctly package and ship most anything up through bike framesets. I hesitate to pack frames and wheels but would work with a local LBS and FedEx, where my son works (and gets some kind of discount.) Depending on travel and handling necessities, appropriate compensation may be expected.
Special notes: I'm a very competent vintage bicycle mechanic and I've had very good success packing and shipping frames.
