2018 Winter Arrival
Looks like winter arrives tomorrow here in Saskatchewan. Snow accompanied by a swift and prolonged drop in temperature to ensure it won't melt. Also 70 km/h winds. Its going to be a "hide from the wind in the back alleys" kind of day.
On the up side it looks like its supposed to get sunny again on Tuesday. It has been cloudy far too much this fall.

Well, we've had snow 3 or 4 times now in La Crosse, WI, but it's all been kind of dumb. There's maybe 1/2 inch on the ground now.
Studs seem like overkill because the roads are fairly dry, but they still seem necessary because the road shoulders in town have a bunch of ice from where cars park. So, my compromise was to stud the front tire for today's commute.
I'm hoping we either get a thaw or some real winter soon. I'm not a fan of the in-between.

Come on! 5F is just a brisk fall day. I’ve been watching Life Below Zero for many seasons, and that’s t-shirt weather.

La Crosse, WI finally got to join the party! For the last couple weeks, there was this big snow hole in the middle of the US. Everyone south and north of us had been hit by a system.
I missed the memo that it was going to snow, and ended up with short but scary 1.5 miles on 700x25 GP4000Sii tires. Oops...
The studs are up and ready to roll today. I've gotta say that I hate the days before winter when it's cold, dark, and gloomy but the snow hasn't yet decided to stay.
