This is one I would like to do this year. The closest I got last year was 820 km for March.

I'm in.
Being Canadian, it will be a few months from now until I start.

I'm definitely going to try to do a 1000k, and May will probably be 1000k as well. If I can get in a 1200k, that would be great. Miles don't count for me unless I am riding a brevet, that's just how I've always done things.

I'm definitely aiming for this goal at least once this year, maybe twice.

Both last year and in 2014 I managed one month over 1000 km while two years ago I managed the feat three times.

To achieve this goal it helps to sign up for a 400 or 600 km brevet. The last two years I pre-rode most of the 400 km course two weeks before the event.

Without a 24+ hour event in the mix I usually top out around 850 km for the month even without business trips or any other distractions.

Thanks to some bad weather we've had here this month, I missed the 1,000 mile month I was shooting for. However, I did manage to get in 857 miles (1,379 Km) for the month. Hoping February will have some good weather.

40 hours of ride time a month (for me) is much more realistic.

Sure its easy to do 1000KM/month if the weather is good, and you have time. To ride 12 months straight, on the same routes, in all kinds of weather?

Yeah, no.

I'd rather enjoy my rides, by picking the best weather, routes, scenery and most importantly good company once and awhile.

Another ghost ride today, decided to take the grocery getter for a 25km spin around the tourist trap areas in Shanghai. Not much to report on, other than the recently abandoned pets seem to be enjoying their freedom.

I narrowly missed 1000 km this month -- only 978 km on Strava, so technically I should not even be posting in this thread ;-)

I didn't ride on the last day of March because I had only just come back from 9 days in Italy and Switzerland and had a lot of catching up to do, workwise. I cycle-toured with my adult son from Perugia to Florence, plus some shorter rides near Rome, in Milan and in Switzerland. Coming after 3 rides of 190, 220 and 210 km on the first three weekends of the month, that Italy trip was almost enough to make the 1000, but not quite.

Looking at my travel schedule for the next 6 months, this is probably as close as I'll get to 1000 km a month this year ;-)

April Highlight -- another 1000 km month! This is our second 1000 km month in a row.

We're at 1009 km as of tonight's 23.6 km ride.

After work, we went to the last night of the local street food market. Yummy. And then we set off into the dark up the Cycleway.

For 96 months, July 2003 to June 2011, I averaged 1196 kms per month, with only 16 less than 1000 kms months and 1 month over 2000 kms. Also 9 months were over 1000 miles.
Resumed stats this year:
January: 1107 kms
February: 1468 kms
March: 1412 kms
April: 1706 kms
However, I count every single km, including commuting, errands, etc. on all my bikes.

I rode about 1060 kms last month. Strava recorded only 985,6 of them, but I forgot to record the first 55 kms of a 300 km brevet I rode, so it definitely is more than 1000 kms. Not counting the short trips to work and around town.

June 2017: My very first 1,000 km month! Good weather helped. Not working a ton and being able to mostly set my own hours was also helpful. Locally, people are jazzed about the National Bike Challenge. Points are awarded for riding at least a mile a day, so it's good motivation to ride somewhere, and once out, it's hard to stop riding!

Strangely, none of my rides in June were all that long - only one over 100 km. I doubt I'll hit the 1,000 mile mark next month, but with a few longer (100-125 mile) rides planned, another 1,000 km month should be possible.

Month total: 1,160 km (720 miles), 10,755 meters (35,285 feet)

With the Florida hurricane and rainy season starting in June, we have had just a few days without any rain during the daylight hours. There were several days in the beginning of the month where my rides were total washouts. I tried to get my 5th consecutive 1,000 mile plus month in June but even with a century ride, fell just shy of making it. I did manage a 966 mile (1,544 Km) month that I'm quite happy with.

Kudos to everyone on this thread for putting in some really good miles.

Good challenge; I'm signing up to do this in July which is a good time to ride in Iowa if a bit hot.

Second 1000K month in a row (or ever, for that matter.) A century and a 200K ride made it easier!

I was well on the way to a 1000 mile month when an injury and some bad weather set me back a bit. Ended up at 929 miles/1495km.

I got 1267km in July, most of it on a short credit-card tour in BC and Alberta. I'm likely gonna be over 1000km for August and September too!

1000 kilometers again for August

Ended the month with 1,136km (706 miles) and 9,364 meters elevation (30,722 feet). August was a whole lot of short (20-35 mile) rides, with a few 50-75 mile rides. I'm kind of sad that I didn't get any 100+ mile trips in, though I had a few 100K rides.

With work picking up, August might be my last 1000 kilometer month for the year...we'll see. I have two centuries planned for September - one for the local Bike Fest tomorrow, and a fast all-women century that should be a lot of fun.

Missed another 1,000 mile month thanks to a pesky hurricane named Irma that kept me off the bike for 8 days. Still got my 1,000+ Km at 838 miles (1,349 Km).

September: done! Month total: 1324km (823 miles), 10531 meters climbed.

This month included two century rides and a whole lot of little 30 mile rides. I'm going to try for a 1,000 mile month next year.
