New frame today

This is the one I've been waiting for.

I can't decide if I should just frame it and hang it or build it.

Gotta build it.

Fantasy draft build list

build list update: Here's what I have so far......

Not a dang thing, only an idea in my head.

I have a quote out for a custom stem. I am starting there, because next to the crank, that is the least appealing part of many of the builds I see. I feel I must use the beautiful new threaded fork that came with the frame. I have gone back and forth as to what the best approach here should be for the rest of it(for me) but I have to admit I am curious what the esteemed panel here would do?

So, dare I ask, what would you do?

It is not an old frame, it is a new frame using old parts, and custom painted/finished. That makes me think it should be a freshened version of a classic.

I think I will enjoy it more as a resto/ergo build. Easier to find parts but more expensive. I am in no hurry here. Want to take my time with this one.

That's a beauty!

130mm spacing?

Maybe an Athena Silver group if you want to go with brifters. Something either black or polished to work off the frame--my preference being silver/polished, and definitely not one of the gray/pewter options such as Dura-Ace.

Let's get you off on the right foot.

Watch Ribble for a sale and order up an Athena groupset.

They have 10% off pretty often, but their prices are already silly low.

Go get 'em.

Campagnolo 2015 Athena Silver 11 Spd Double Groupset at Ribble Cycles

For a wheelset, I would find a nice set of Campy Neutrons. Really an exceptional wheelset for the $$$$.

Campagnolo Neutron Ultra Clincher Wheels Pair, Wheels Factory Built, WHEELS FACTORY ROAD / TRI

That would get you off to a whale of a start.

I am in on the Athena silver group but I would build a wheelset with record hubs, wheelsmith spokes, h+sons tb14 rims, all black. Nice new cinelli 1A stem and Giro 64 bars, black seat and tape. But that's just me.

Sounds like Athena is a no brainier here as it has classic shine and modern gearing. I was thinking silver spokes and thin black rims.

No one is in on a modern 11speed record group?

Time to go shopping at ribble methinks.

Thanks for the advice and kind words as well.

Silver spokes sound good too. The tb14 are classic thin box section shape. Good luck. Looking forward to pics of the finished build.

I wouldn't try and push you to make a spur of the moment decision, but Ribble is doing 10% off your order for a couple more days. Use code "PAY10" when you check out.

I think 11s is going to be the modern red headed step child cousin of 9s. 10s seems to be logical choice regardless of it being Shimano or Campy.
