I'm slowly getting a few things to do some bikepacking.
Relatively light items like tent and quilt go into the bar bag so that steering isn’t impacted as much.

The heaviest stuff goes in the frame bag so that the bike is not top heavy. Tools, pasta, tuna packets, gu and blocks, lock and cable, Anker battery, etc.

Clothes, pad, bear bag and cook kit go in the saddle bag.

Winter is coming...

Today I rode a section of the Kettle Valley Railway out of Hope BC through what are called the Othello Tunnels. After that I did part of the Hope/Nicola trail, an old cattle drive route put through by the Gov't in the 1870's to bring cattle down from the interior. That involved a lot of "hike a bike".

So many cool places in this thread. So far gravel rides are still a sidebar for me and I haven't ventured anywhere interesting.

There were a lot better views than this yesterday, but I figured the most typical view should be posted.
Fall in Iowa- beans to the left and corn to the right, both dry and ready for harvest.

Explored loads of out-and-backs and whatnot near Mt Pilchuck. Had some trouble framing photos, but the roads were amazing. Lots of good stuff to remember for later rides.

And here's some gravel:

I got out for 25 miles of gravel along the Santa Ana River in Norco yesterday and ran across the ultimate trail clearing machine! I guess they're using this beast to start work on the connection to the main bike trail that leads all the way to Huntington Beach. Look at the size of this thing with my Niner next to the tire!

Which distance did you ride? I'm thinking about the 90 next year.

Finally got a real gravel ride in, although 60/40 on the surface. Need some weight reduction on the Cube.

Can you share how this sort of a route view was created? I'd LOVE to be able to create such a view for some of our rides or to plan trips with.

Finally got this build about wrapped up, and a nice enough day to go for a ride. I feel pretty good about the stem height but committing to cutting a carbon steerer scares me. Not sure why, I’ve cut many aluminum ones. I also realized I should have left a little more hose for the front brake.
