Trek 830 questions

Trek 830 questionsI've been looking for one of these for awhile and this one popped up about 50 miles away. I'm curious about the value and also the size. It's an 18" frame, what size rider would this fit? Don't want to drive all the way down and find out it's to small, which I think it is.

Probably good for someone between 5'6" and 5'9" or so. This is imprecise since there are other factors that matter such as leg length and torso length.

I like the early Trek MTBs and I like the early Specialized MTBs as well. That said, if I were looking for a vintage MTB as an all around rider/gravel rider, I'd be looking for the later ones from the late 80s and early 90s.

Is this an '85? If it is, the Trek downtube decal doesn't look right. Should be more spacing between the letters in TREK, and the font looks more like what they used in the mid-90's as opposed to '85. Newer decal suggests a repaint.

I have a number of mid-90s Treks, and the downtube graphics don't scream "90s" to me. My daughter's 13" 1997 850 is shown below, and the downtube graphics on this are pretty similar to those used throughout the '90s, and it's not consistent with the 830 example pictured above.

Regarding frame size, I'm 6'0" with an actual (not pants size) inseam of about 34", and I could probably ride that 830 if given a long enough seat post (which it looks like it has). The bullmoose handlebar looks like it has plenty of reach to it, so a taller person would probably be less likely to feel cramped.
