Trek 100 Navigator crank guard

My wife has a Trek 100 Navigator. The plastic ring that acts as a crank guard has snapped off and just flops back and forth as she pedals. Its mounted to the large crank using 4 small machine screws. The bike is about 10 years old. Where could I locate a replacement one of these?

Picture required.

It may be less expensive to purchase a whole new crankset; which can be had on line for $20- to $30-.

Driveline makes nice chain / bash guards, they may or may not have a model that fits; they are about the same price.

Not many ring guards are really available in the after market. We tell our customers that we usually can't find the right one and don't offer to try any more. A complete crank replacement is what we suggest. IIRC SKS offers a "universal" ring guard/disk that mounts on the crank retaining bolt cap threads. We found them to be problematic with a ft der. and other along the stay chain guards. Andy.

Thanks guys, I'll get a pic up later today. A whole new crank might be the way to go.

Unless your wife rides in loose cuff long pants a chainring guard should be unneeded. Shorts or tights won't get caught and an ankle band (like these: Nashbar Leg Band Set with VELCRO brand fasteners )to restrain loose pants cuffs will keep them out of the chain.
