Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Campy disc brakes are in, and I have questions

First: https://www.bikerumor.com/2017/05/09...omment-3202926

Stoked. Very stoked. But, I am pretty uninformed on the whole flat mount standard. I know there are some compatibility issues with IS and post mount, but I cannot recall if that is with an IS or post mount frame fitting flat mount calipers, or a flat mount frame fitting IS or post mount. Can anyone clear that up?

Also, I have also heard that my older (2011ish) Chorus derailleurs may not work with newer Ultrashift levers, is this the case? Just trying to figure out what I'll need to buy...

If you have 2011 Chorus...you'll need to buy everything sans cassette. Derailleur cable pull was changed in 2015.

There is no easy way to mount a flat mount caliper on a post mount frame/fork. You ought to be able to go the other way but I don't think that's relevant for what you are considering.

I am a little surprised that Campy bothered to make front and rear calipers simply to do away with the typical mounting adapters for flat mount calipers. I like it, but I'm surprised. The levers...meh. I'm happier with my mechanical levers and hybrid disc calipers, for now.
