Big Bird is now headed out the door for sure and I've added the pair of Gitane mixtes to the list. That puts the hit list at 6. That's not counting the 3 I'm dropping off today. Almost forgot "Dave", the '67 Varsity! Make that 7, that will put me at N-8.
Wait a minute....... I forgot the Traveler I gifted my D-I-L and the VooDoo I just sold. I'm down THREE and will be at N-10 soon.
We need a James Brown "I Feel Good!" emoji!!! Guess this will have to do.

Great work. Not only does it free up actual space, it frees up mental space as well. I always need a few projects banging around to keep me engaged, but I find that too many is no good. Excellent job!!
Now we just gotta work on this weird Raleigh fascination that jdawginsc has recently become afflicted with. I think he caught the bug from cudak888 . Fortunately I recently recoverd from it and there are currently no more Raleighs in the shop

8 hours away should keep the Raleigh germs away except in little doses.
There are some surprises in store that should improve it overall.
At least it’s isn’t a Motobecane, Peugeot or Schwinn...hee hee.

Well, the LBS was very appreciative of the bikes I dropped off but when I mentioned "Varsity" they got a scared look and asked if I had brought them. You should have seen the look of relief when I said no LOL. Looks like Big Bird and Dave will have to take a different exit.

Next up is my 2019 Trek 520. It's a nice competent bike, but the issue is that I bought the frame and built it to my taste. Ten speed Campagnolo Racing triple gearing, a SON hub and lights, Velocity Dyad rims with fat Herse tires. So I can't sell the bike as is; I'll want to strip the Campagnolo bits and wheels. It's not going to be easy to sell a half-naked trek frame.
it's a good bike but I built it as an errand and wet weather bike. And as much as I hate to admit it, I'm just not interested in riding in the rain much any longer. So I think this needs to go.

I'm starting to come to the conclusion that my collection is just crap. Well, I mean other than the Guac and maybe the the Trek 930 (which is already sort of 'meh'). Half my bikes don't even fit me (mostly too small), a solid percentage of them are literal garbage (you know which ones) and would look right home sitting next to the bin on trash day, most of my slightly nicer bikes (like the Ironman) are total mixmasters, stripped of paint, non-original, complete mutts.
Which should make them easier to part with. Which has me excited. I'm going to take this slightly depressing state of things and try to use it to my advantage by going out there and trying to sell, probably for cheap, the bikes that I look at and release the biggest 'SIGH' over.
In my head is a grail on every hook, but somehow I woke up and they're all just Huffys

And as it turned out I just spotted a Claude Butler frame for a stupid price on CL about 7 blocks from me . . . . I may just turn that into my utility bike. Love English 531 frames!

LBS is taking the 2 Gitane mixtes, I swapped the Panaracers on Big Bird for some Kendas and cleaned him up to put him up for sale and got a bunch done on the '67 Varsity. Had hoped to have it done by today but obviously that didn't happen.

Luckily I have a utility trailer full of bye-bye-bikes before I need to move onto mine...unless the Raleigh disappoints of course...

That's my challenge as well. I only look for bikes that fit me and that is want to ride. I generally don't buy bikes to flip or just for their parts.

Great thread - Recently, the bicycle count in my garage is up, but just passed forward a Ti Litespeed few days ago .
Looking back, I passed forward:
- hybrid Trek FX7.4
- another hybrid Trek FX7.2
- road Tomasso Tiempo (was a brand from Colorado. I think is no more, and was my first road bike)
- Sekai GT2700 - it was my first commuter, but was a bit bigger and heavy...
- Centurion Ironman - was a bit big for wife
- the Litespeed Firenze

Nishiki Tri-A, Centurion Ironman (building), Centurion ProTour15 (commuter), Trek 7.4FX, an e-bike, Bianchi Vigorelli, and another Centurion Ironman (frame only that I am thinking on rebuild)

Great thread - Recently, the bicycle count in my garage is up, but just passed forward a Ti Litespeed few days ago .
Looking back, I passed forward:
- hybrid Trek FX7.4
- another hybrid Trek FX7.2
- road Tomasso Tiempo (was a brand from Colorado. I think is no more, and was my first road bike)
- Sekai GT2700 - it was my first commuter, but was a bit bigger and heavy...
- Centurion Ironman - was a bit big for wife
- the Litespeed Firenze
Current:
Nishiki Tri-A, Centurion Ironman (building), Centurion ProTour15 (commuter), Trek 7.4FX, an e-bike, Bianchi Vigorelli, and another Centurion Ironman (frame only that I am thinking on rebuild)

This Trek Mystic is in amazing condition and cleaned right up. The original tubes and rim straps were bad so I swapped new rim straps, tubes, and Bontrager tire onto it along with new brake pads and brake cable.
This bike received the tires from the Mystic and Amazon hand grips - ready for a new home. I dropped the price $30 and hope to move it along.

Oh and I built this up from a $20 Fb frame find and the parts stash. It’s going to a friend that I got into cycling since I moved back to central Ohio. 2000 Yukon SE that came with 3x8 Acera derailleurs, vbrakes, Suntour SR 3x crankset, bars, and stem. It cleaned up great and will be done this weekend when he brings me the chain, grips, and seatpost. This will replace a1994 Hardrock as his cruiser. Yeah, it's definitely lighter.

Yesterday, I helped a widow and fellow club member go through her late husband's bicycles and accumulated parts. She'd already sold a few of the most valuable bikes online, and was looking for help with the remaining items. After putting aside everything she wanted for her bikes and saving the items of sentimental value (including several tandem rally plates), I helped in loading away a whole small car full of components, tires, wheels, and accessories for the co-op.
Not everything is shown. Hey, the truck is still under repair.

As I loaded the final items, I could sense her emotions. Sadness as part of her past life was taken away, memories of riding... and relief in getting half of her garage back.
