Here is my bike I built up from a Windsor Stratford flatbar bike I originally bought to use on the trainer in the winter. All that's left of the original bike is the frame and headset. Nashbar carbon fork, 5700 group w/ FSA Gossamer compact crank, FSA finishing kit, Prologo saddle and bar tape, DT Swiss r1850 wheels, and 25c Conti Gatorskins. Mainly a rain bike and keep it at work in the summer to ride when I get a chance.
My othe bike is a 2012 Focus Culebro 1.0SL w/ Ultegra 6700. Pretty much stock except Prologo saddle, 36t inner chain ring, and DT Swiss RR1450 Tricon wheels w/ 25c Conti GP4000s II tires.

Just became the owner of a new 2015 Ribble Sportive Racing. Photo taken just after assembly, still working on fit and fine-tuning.

They DO look high especially since they were both photographed from a low vantage point...they're actually not as high as they look, but on the other hand, they probably are higher than many, as, at 68, I'm not as flexible as I used to be
AND the bars on the Colnago, which had a long reach, have been replaced with 3T Ergonova's (79mm reach)

My road bike is the only road bike I can ride in comfort. I have owned several "better" road bikes including a Panasonic, Fuji, Trek, etc but they were all sold because they were not comfortable for me. I own a bunch of other bikes, but my favorite was my Huffy MTB which is still my daily commuter. I decided to buy a Huffy road bike and this is the only road bike I truly enjoy and ride it every weekend and during group/charity rides........

Were those other bikes "racing" style road bikes ? Maybe you would like "touring" style road bikes, with longer wheelbase, shallower angles, and room for wider tires.

I wanted to get into road biking and decided on a Giant Defy 1 that I picked up a week ago today. I really like it so far though do need to bring in for some minor adjustments. Also have a Cannondale Quick SL1 hybrid that I have been riding for a couple of years now.

Nice looking frame. I'm considering putting together a new bike piece by piece and I'm not really seeing any "really" good deals on just frames. Seems like all the deals are on full bikes, but which basic parts which is what I'm trying to avoid since I want to use dura-ace on 1 item, but 105 on another to keep costs down.
When you got your frame warrantied did you purchase the full bike initially or just the frame? Also why did you end up with a new frame and just out of curiosity if I only purchase a frame from a dealer do I still get that same warranty as if I purchased the entire bike?

2012 Windsor Fens with 10spd 105 from Bikes Direct. Not a bad beginner bike, but I definitely want to upgrade to a nice carbon bike in the future.

I'm really not sure how warranties work on bikes vs. just frames. This is the only time I've had something like this happen.

Thanks. Back in fall 2003 I purchased a new 2004 Sequoia Elite from a LBS so it was a complete bike. The frame developed a crack in the head tube near the fork race. Fortunately, Specialized had a few 2014 Secteur Elite frames sitting in their warehouse. It was pretty much hassle free and didn't cost a dime since I stripped down the old bike and am building up the new one myself. Had the bike shop stripped the old bike down there would have been labor charges.

Wow that's not a bad trade off. Still on the fence of getting something new and paying a premium or trying to keep costs down and get something used. Looks like the frame is lifetime warranty either way. However it's almost twice the costs of getting a new frame versus a used one since most dealers don't buy or stock just frames.
Most manufacturers honor lifetime warranty for original purchaser... not for the second owner.

Haven't posted in a while but just got my dream bike and had to share and show off a little. Came across a deal I couldn't pass up. NOS 2011 Look 695. Built up with sram red 22 and reynolds attack wheels. Still getting the fit dialed in but it's riding like a dream.
