Hello from SoCal!
Hello everyone! Nice to meet you all!
My name is Victor. A bit about myself: I'm 20 year old college student studying in San Diego.
I figured the best way to learn about a hobby is to join a forum!
I currently have a broken down unridable cheap department store bike which lasted less than a year of sparse use. Having read some of the threads here, I don't ever want to make the mistake of going cheap again. I've glanced through several threads seen that I need to go with better brands and better parts of the bike, yet I am too much of a novice to understand what I should look for. Furthermore being a college student, budgeting is important. I'd like to see what I am getting myself into and prepare for it haha. I am here to learn more about biking in general from the experienced community!
Thanks!

Welcome to Bike Forums. Visit a few bike shop and talk to the owner about the type of riding you're interested in, budget, etc and see what they have. Many colleges have a buying program for students to get a good bike for less.
