Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Install weekend - Helicopter tape, bar tape, cages

I just bought my bike a couple weeks ago and wanted to add some more color, long weekend working on it but still got 30mile rides in Sat/Sun

Also bought a roll of helicopter tape (race tape) the flat carbon look was a little dull so threw on some test pieces to see how it looked
  • Added new color matching bottle cages
  • Race tape
  • Handle bar tape (my first time don't laugh)

dont worry, nobody here likes my saddle and the CGR post makes it look even more off
I am looking at the Selle SMP Hybrid seat, it comes in green or yellow but cant find one to try, might just have to order it and take the chance

I would have skipped the outside of the forks and top tube.. not really an impact area.. inside of the forks sure. plus you didn't cover the whole thing so it looks odd.

It's your bike- geek it out how you like.

The saddle and seatpost still remind me of the vultures from Disney's Robin Hood.

Yeah i took it off the fork, i didnt even try the other side just wanted to see the look, but i did keep the top tube, i cut it out to wrap around the steam area a little instead of rounding it off, it really makes the bike look different when riding, instead of grey matte its more of a glossy color and dont have to work about scratches

Its helicopter "racetape" really nice compared to some other products, it was like $45/roll but should last awhile on multiple projects
