Yeah, but if you check, FedEx hasn't delivered the parts and bribes yet...
Edit: just checked, delivered to house about an hour ago. No basketball to watch tonight, so I guess I'll be slapping parts and new rubber on, ride it in to work tomorrow for a quick test, and send bags to you in a couple of days.

Speaking of beer, package from @Spaghetti Legs arrived yesterday. Bars, stem, brake levers, pedals, and bribe to be split between myself and @Andy_K. Andy is riding Hugh's bike on the prologue from the Atelier to the train statin in Portland, then will follow bike and train up to Seattle to hand deliver it to Hugh. He'll take the train back. I'm pretty sure that Andy's day as an amateur cyclocross racer are over now to begin his new part time gig as a professional semi-tourist.

I wanted to send the PDX ers a taste of Virginia so I sent a selection. Charlottesville is a town of about 45,000 and has a very good beer pedigree. In that pic are:
3 Notch’d (3 notched road was the trail between Richmond and here in colonial times)
Blue Mountain Brewery - Nelson County south of here
South Street Brewery - one of the oldest is Cville, now owned by Blue Mountain
Starr Hill - started in Cville, now in Crozet, 10 miles away so they could increase production
Devils Backbone - Nelson County - great place to stop for a beer after a wicked fast descent off the Blue Ridge Parkway
Craft Bros - located in Harrisonburg, but the label is a cool take on the “Virginia is for Lovers” logo.
Hardyoood - located in Richmond with a taproom here.
Champion and Random Row breweries are in town as well with Wild Wolf (Nelson County about a mile from DB) opening a tap room soon.

T minus one week before we light this candle. Key dates:
- Friday, 6/28 myself, @nlerner, @SquireBlack, Jim G. and Bob Williamson will be in Portland for a pre-ride dinner. @Andy_K will almost certainly be there, @johnnyace may come up from Salem, and other Portlandia folk are welcome. I'll announce time and location when we decide, and when it gets closer. Stay tuned!
- Saturday, 6/29 the tourists will ride a short prologue from our various overnight accomodations to Union Station in Portland. @Andy_K will ferry the Portland Craigslist find Heron touring bike that I picked up for @Spaghetti Legs (which he's never riden) all the way to Seattle. Andy found out that we're having lunch at Elysian Brewing Company's location just a couple of blocks from the King Street station in Seattle at noon and couldn't resist. Spaghetti Legs is flying into Seattle that morning and will Uber over to meet up with us and see his bike for the very first time. @DrilliumDude, @ryansu and @RiddleOfSteel have been busy reconnoitering the urban/suburban route from King Station to North Bend. Six tourists + our three harbor pilots will leave the brewpub around one-ish out to Northbend. Anyone else that wants to join, feel free! That evening we'll be having dinner in Northbend, time and place TBD. Bob Freeman will be joining us to break liquid bread.
- Sunday 6/30 we're riding out from Northbend to Cle Elum on the gravely Iron Horse trail, but before that we'll head over to Bob Freeman's place to check out his incredible collection of mostly fully restored, vintage bikes. We need to kill some time as there is a marathon running in the opposite direction on the trail. Most of them will clear out by noon, so we'll start around then. @droppedandlost says he'll probably be able to ride up to the Snowqualmie tunnel along with Bob. We'll be in Cle Elum that evening
- Monday 7/1 we'll continue east to Ellensburg, where @scozim will pick up harbor pilot duties and get us out to Yakima Canyon, and hopefully ride a ways with us. We'll finish up the day in Naches.
- Tuesday 7/2 is a day to head back west out of the semi-arid Western Washington, up and over White Pass back up to the green forest side of the Cascades. Our stop for the night is in Randall.
- Wednesday 7/3 will be a return to gravel for 12 of the 58 planned miles up and over Baby Shoe Pass for an overnight stop in Trout Lake
- Thursday, 4th of July will be our most ambitious day, 93 miles and over 5k feet of climbing with a bit more gravel coming out of Trout Lake before we make a looooooooooong descent into Carson, cross the might Columbia River on the Bridge of the Gods, then take the Gorge Highway back to Portland. @Andy_K was thinking about riding out to meet us at somewhere like Vista Point, then turn around and ride back to Portland with us. I'm sure there'll be a victory dinner somewhere in Portland that evening.

Lookie here, Neal, Hugh was smart enough to get Andy to ride his bike to Seattle, what Andy doesn't know is he's doing the tour, not Hugh. I've got Jeff, Ryan, and Dan on day 1, guess what they're going to find out? Uber or Lyft from town to town, I'm gold.

I am currently deciding between which steel steed I shall bring--the solidarity in my gugie-fied '74 Paramount, where I will have to mount seatpost-located TT-style bottle cages (no provisions elsewhere--mounting them is in lieu of a longer ride) and sorta muddy the elegance of the rest of the bike (I'm sure no one will care though), or go with a racy-mcracer-face bike with bottle cage braze-ons already (a la my loopy paint job Land Shark). I'm leaning toward the Paramount because it's a touring group and it is a superb mile-eater. Then again, nothing glides like my Land Shark on old school aero rims, freshly-overhauled 6400 hubs, and Vittoria Open Corsa tires. This is "what outfit do I wear" but for C&V cyclists.

Champion and Random Row breweries are in town as well with Wild Wolf (Nelson County about a mile from DB) opening a tap room soon.
