Thanks, fellas. The bike commute of life has reached some rough gravel roads and I'm on skinny tires and a hard saddle and can't find my chamois cream. I'm glad you can see the humor, sometimes it takes some trying for me to find it myself. Happy Friday.

Skipjacks (MD) ______________ 256 (287 total miles YTD)

Somebody could use some more saddle time, IMHO. The sunlight, fresh air, and mild exercise work wonders for a sour mood, trust me.

I'm not tracking anymore, but I can tell you that with 5 commuting days last week and 4 this week and a couple fun rides, I've ridden more since last Monday than you've reported to have ridden this year.

At least I'm not a hypocrite.

You have multiple rants about how dumb mileage tracking is and how it's beneath you because it's meaningless

But you're happy to use tracked millage it to proclaim your opinion is more valid (you said EXACTLY that in your private message to me, that you don't have to listen to anyone who rides less than you. You know the conversation...the one where you danced around the point you were getting to after asking me how often I update the mileage thread so you could make your lame 'gotcha' crack about millage that you telegraphed from 100 miles away./ Remember that one?)

What about all the other people on the millage thread who post a lower number than you? Are all their opinions worthless to you? Are any of them worthy of speaking to you? There's some good people on that list. Nice folks who haven't ridden much this year either. Are you better than all of them too? Because that's what you're saying when you start this "I'm better because you haven't ridden as much as me" nonsense. Why don't you make a thread about that and see how much support you get.

In the mean time I'll go live my life knowing I'm just a happier person than you who doesn't need to whine every flipping day about how other people drive cars, track millage, etc etc etc or otherwise live their lives in a manner that you don't approve of. I'm also secure enough to not give a crap about how other people ride more or less than I do because my self image isn't so pathetically low than it matters to me.

Oh, and don't get mad at me because I'm smart enough to live closer to work than you do.

@Skipjacks,

FWIW I’ve had you on my ignore list for some time, meaning I have to click on your post to see it. And I haven’t done so until today. And I now regret it.

After reading back through all that stuff, I gotta hand it to you: I definitely am the one with the insecurities. I’ll be working on that. Thanks for your help.

Ok, I deleted several posts and cleaned the thread up. One last chance to keep the thread going. No more insults.

Time for you two guys to disengage and move along. Enough with the personal attacks. You know who I mean.

Tell ya what, anybody wants to log my miles as their own, go right on ahead.
Just tell me who to donate them to on the mileage thread and I’ll do the rest.

If you're not serious...we both know what I'm thinking. I'll spare the rest of the board from having to read it.

If you are serious, it takes a big man to admit that. Props to you for being able to do so. And good luck on working out your demons. Most men are too scared to even try. And I absolutely mean that in all seriousness in a very positive way.
