I don't have a clue about the age of this blue Technium. The Aluminum Tubing sticker is so faded you can't make out if it's 6061 or 6013.

Your Technium was manufactured on day 101 of 1986, so it's definitely 1st model year. The aluminum alloy used for the main tubese was 6013. It's about 10% stronger than the more common 6061 alloy but can't be welded.

I'm working on this exact bike except its a flat bar bike with thumbies. Pretty cool hybrid. I wonder if this was converted or they made two different models.

To my knowledge and looking through the Raleigh catalogs online, I suspect yours was converted. The Olympian, the 440, 460 and 480 were all drop bar bikes.

I don't think so it looks brand new like it has zero miles on it and everything looks like its original. I actually seen some others on the web that were flat bar. Google Raleigh Olympian and click on images. That's a different bike entirely. They may have used the name Olympian, but that is not a road bike. They did make Technium city bikes and trail bikes. What I was talking about is the Technium series of road bikes, which when they came out with the Technium construction technique were the only ones offered.

What you have is a different model.

Edit: Notice the cantilever brakes.

Its a Technium Aluminum Olympian hybrid model bike, I think its the same frame they just made a hybrid version out of it at some point. It has 700c wheels, trigger shifters 7 speed, canti brakes etc. Who knows but they obviously made a road bike and hybrid bike version, same paint, decals etc. Almost exactly the same other then the drop bar and trigger shifters.

Probably not but they did do stuff to save money so it could be possibly. I will have the bike later today and will take some measurements and get a date code off of it.

So, since we've expanded on Technii in general...;-) without a serial number, any ideas which model/version this might be?
Trying to decide whether to burn two hours I don't have to go look at it. I am looking for something to keep - not a flip or sell.
