So this guy made an appearance in the basement bike shop last night. I guess he was looking for a warm place to hide for the winter.

Some of my friends collect snakes and tarantulas. Pretty sure this is how their collections started.

I knew it would open up all the puns. Needless to say, but he was removed before the test ride. Glad he “spoke” up before I left....

Must be a Schwalbe tire, they have Snakeskins (refers to the thickness/density of the sidewall)

Common garter snake, not poisonous. Keep it around to get rid of the small pests that come in during winter.

Funniest show and tell experience I ever had was in first grade when one kid brought a garter snake and another brought a small frog. The frog was able to get away, but everyone was amazed at how fast the garter snake was. It was a very close call for the frog, and kids were screaming.

Yes, very good to keep around. We also have a pretty good population of black rat snakes around the property. They are not quite as tiny as this one. I've spotted a couple over 6' long. As long as we don't surprise each other we get along just fine.

Better a garter snake in the garage than a copperhead in the den.

Kill it with fire! I'm not afraid of snakes but I don't like copperheads.
