Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Long, long weekend down here! How was your weekend? Get much cycling in? Got spring or autumn photos?

We did a little bit of walking and no cycling because we organised a weekend of cycling ... for other people!

On Friday they rode a warm-up 50 km, on Saturday they rode the main event of 160 km and on Sunday they rode the cooldown of 100 km.

Beautiful fall day on Saturday where we did a 35 mile loop. Sunday was a wash out which was maybe a good thing since Mike Pence and Air Force II took over our airport parking area. 3rd ride on my newest old bike, a purple '86 Bianchi .. on the far left along with the plastics

I'm the guy who thinks that car is not too far gone to get back on the road

Past Tuesday did the Davis Is. evening ride for 27 miles. Saturday was a rare work day, so no bike ride. Sunday I went for a pleasant 40 miles around S. Tampa. Light winds. There was not a bad direction to go.

Been loving my gravel travels, been super busy with life but managing to sneak out for some rides on the weekends. Last weekend I did a 35 mile ride Saturday, 20 miles Sunday. Not high mileage but temps were around freezing with 10mph winds. Felt great to just get out!!

I did my Sunday ride to the Ventura Harbor and back through downtown. It was very cloudy with chance of rain, actually got a few drops. Then it was windy but still a nice ride. Joe
