I was willing to give her the benefit of the doubt after hearing some of her first album. California Gurls ended that. She is pretty good eye candy, though...

I don't watch tv. I used to work with him when I lived in NYC.

I did cover for one of the trombone players on some recording tests for "Louis" last year though.

not sure how that makes me political, but whatever. I thought it was musicology/sociology.

On some thread there was talk of Spinacci's, Scott Rakes, etc. Has anyone seen these in person and what do you think (seen in person or not) as far as usefulness?

It was interesting, they traveled with his band to England and Havana. They showed some of the guys helping musicians in Havana and lots of stuff with kids.

I think you can watch it on-line if you want.

"It depends on what the meaning of the word 'is' is. If the--if he--if 'is' means is and never has been, that is not--that is one thing. If it means there is none, that was a completely true statement....

They have tiny dicks?

The sl ut/drug addled idiot factor can always keep a chick in the news. But once Beiber's fan base hits high school he'll auger in like an F16 pointed straight down, making the occasional media appearance for being arrested for hiring some tranny escort.

The exception that proves the rule to this is Timberlake, who's actually a pretty decent actor and is pretty funny on SNL.

Explains Justin B and the promoters that are comfortable whoring him out while he's hot. Miley Sirus has Disney backing. That a much longer run.

I would add Mark Wahlberg to that. Wouldn't have thought that in the Marky-Mark days, but as an actor, he doesn't suck.

Her meltdown has started. See Lindsay Lohan, Christina Aguilera. Hopefully she won't fall that far.

I think for the vast majority of history, people of that age group were apprenticed in some way to adults, and probably were unable to own property until they reached mastery. unless they were simply serfs/slaves/workers/etc. (or the occasional aristocrat)

Yeah, well, there's a lot that goes in to that. People don't play anymore, and by that, I mean people don't get together solely to play. It's all about the gig, and how much it's going to pay, and what's it going to do for my career. Jam? No time for that. And then there's the music industry nonsense...a while back, I was in a band that was really good. The songs were really good, the band put on a good performance, people seemed to really respond to what we were doing...but it wasn't going to be the kind of band that sold 10 million units. An A&R guy said to us that if the song wasn't into the first verse inside of 10 seconds, and to the hook (not the chorus, the hook. That was the word he used) within 40, they weren't going to touch it. And that goes for bands that have a track record with their label, as well...there's no room for growth, musically...that makes you harder to sell, and you will disappear if you deviate from the format in the slightest fashion. That makes it really hard to bring it album after album.

I understand that the music industry exists to make money, and nothing more, but the music industry is what killed music.

This is the age of instant gratification. Nothing less is acceptable.
