So my son has pneumonia...and with the wife being with the baby all the time there's no escaping it, he actually sneezed into my mouth 2 days ago and I woke up this morning with heavy lungs and a nice raspy voice and cough.

...Ohh well, I can always be worse, It's just bike racing and it's not like I am getting paid to be in great shape . With the baby and all I am on my continued downward spiral of Cat 5 power with a Cat 3 license.

I love my kids but they are like little plague rats sometimes..staying healthy and having small children is next to impossible.

yes sir. My son in particular is like the little monkey from that movie outbreak...if he gets anything the whole house has it in 2-3 days.

Did a late 2 hours on the trainer. Missus wasn't feeling good, went to bed early so that gave me carte blanche to do a long ride. I rode till past midnight (late for me, at least now it is).

Realized I need to "H" (from HTFU) some soft tissue before I head out on longer rides. Therefore I need to do some more 2+ hour rides, hitting 3-4+ hours shortly.

Also realized I'm kind of rough on the bike. My home-made emotion rollers should be done tonight so I'll start using those.

Power and smoothness.

80 min of tempo in a 2hr ride in rainy 55 degree weather in San Diego.

Needless to say I didn't see any other riders out today.

Don't forget it's the first Monday back at work for most people after a holiday week/weekend. I doubt you would have seen many people even if it wasn't raining.

A little under 2 hrs today. Got in 2 15 minute LT intervals, both 4-5 watts better than my best power, hit last week. 272w and 271w.

and the first one always sucks.

NSFW but it has to be done. I'm just hoping that this is the right one about kids.

Isolated leg sets in the garage. 10 X 45 seconds/leg @ ~80W. My lower back sure disagrees with the TSS!

Spontaneous 20 min test as I felt good, ate well, and felt some motivation. 229w for 20 min. I'm still a bit short of the 268?w record for me but things seem to be moving in the right direction.

Worried about the training camp that starts in 22 days. And permits and stuff for the races that start in March. Arg.

Masters in SoCal are a bunch of wimps. I mean, really, has anyone of them ever done anything of consequence?

had 2.5 hrs of high Z2 planned for today, but I got a little bug and have a scratchy throat/stuffy nose.

I'll probably opt for 1.5 hrs of z1 instead.

I've also got a little scratchiness in my throat. I'm taking 1 more day of rest - I'll do 45' of AR later today.

One week down, five to go before I can ride outside again.. argh.

Doc said I could get on the trainer soon though, but it's little consolation.
