Unique features to frame:

I have no explanation for the “Team 1200”, if you search the Web, you will find some listings for “Team 1200” frames/complete bikes, one with different colors has a paint scheme like this bike, others as unique as the PICS system allowed, e.g., build your own one of custom bike. The rub spot on the drive side of the top tube near the seat stay corresponds to where the name of a rider’s name would have been located on the bike frame. Why was it rubbed out? Mystery.

*The original stem will be included with this sale, which is a black Modolo X-TENOS matching the Modolo handlebar. An additional pair of Shimano 600 Tri-Color handlebar end plugs and unused Cat Eye black cotton cloth handlebar tape (matching that on the handlebars) will also be included. Finally, print outs of the Panasonic PICS custom system and nice color prints of PICS bikes and Panasonic’s iconic ad “I’m one of a kind. And so is my bike.”

In 1989, or so, my shop started to carry the Panasonic line. When the PICS program came out we ordered a "sample" frame for display. A couple of years later we moved on from them, only selling a couple of PICS bikes (and IIRC the US company was going through "issues" too) but having done well with the stock models. The PICS were quit nicely done, besides the paint options.

Now nearly retired I look back on my shop life and at some of the regrets I have. Not getting the sample frame in my size is one of them. Andy

Andy, yes we all have such memories. For me knee arthritis and the understanding that these two custom bikes are functional art, said it's time to let them go. Thus there sale. May there be miles and miles and a cold beer at the end, which these bikes deserve, as does their rider.

I know that the Specialized mountain bike stem, though black, is an awkward look for this bike. But my lower back requires an upright, top of the handlebar, riding position and this solved both fitment and this necessity.

However as noted, the original Modolo X-Tenos stem is included with this sale. Note one small nick on front top edge of stem.
