E bike shorting under load

I bought a used e bike and it seemed to be working fine for a couple weeks. Now the bike will work if I lift the wheel off the ground and hit the throttle. (Front hub motor) as soon as I put the wheel on the ground and hit the throttle the bike immediately cuts everything off! No power lights nothing. The battery is good I’m getting 42 v on my 36v battery so I really don’t think that’s the problem. It cuts out under load right away then I have to disconnect the battery and reconnect it! Any idea of what might be wrong?

BION, good chance it's the battery. Running with no load is a lot different than "loaded". I would have that checked first (well, after examining all the connections). One of the easiest ways would be to borrow a similar battery and try it or use your battery on a similar bike that runs fine with its battery (realize it might be difficult to do this). DW may appear and have some other ideas and/or another way to test your battery.
