I've had 2 weeks off the bike so typically me decided it's time for a climbing record for me. Over 80km's 4 hours saddle time climbed 5754ft I'm not fit for that but did it totally shagged at the finish.
The morning was nice and warm then degraded to freezing over the ride.
I didn't realise auto pause wasn't selected on my app so average speed is irrelevant.

Well, it's been tough lately to get out but I succeeded this weekend.
Saturday - Didn't go as planned. I got a late start and then had a ghost shifting problem with RD from the start. Finally stopped at around mile 7 and adjusted it out...I think. Then around mile 11 while taking a sharp turn at around 20 mph I heard and felt that ping we all seek to avoid. Yep, popped a spoke on the rear wheel. Stopped to open up the rear brake and then took the shortest route home. Took it easy returning and did just barely over 20 miles. The bike I had out was my beautiful Giordana Polaris.
Sunday - Today I did 42 miles on my Martelly built Ribble bike. Still sorting this one out and figuring out what I want to do with it. Nice ride on it today enjoying the fall weather. I do need to get a new chain on this and see if that takes some of the sluggishness out of it.

33 miles for Thursday's club ride. Caught in the rain the final 8 miles or so but felt good -- temperature was still in the 80s. Slowed by another rider's multiple puncture flats but that was okay -- stopping to lend a hand offers good opportunities to meet new folks.
22 miles Saturday morning, short of my planned 50-60 mile group ride. Yikes. Worst I've felt in months. I'm gonna blame the sudden cold front. Started at 37F around 7 a.m. I figured I'd warm up around my own neighborhood for 30 minutes and tag onto the group as they passed. But I never could get warmed up despite dressing warmly -- dead legs, sore throat, numb lips, asthma problems and throat congestion -- and couldn't hold the wheels in front of me. The group slowly pulled away and I decided to take it easy and go my own route. Achy and exhausted when I got home. Slept for pretty much the next 16 hours.
25 miles Sunday evening. Felt much better. Temp in the low 70s, clear sky, big orange Hunter's Moon, beautiful evening for a leisurely ride. Intended to cruise around an easy 15 mph but averaged 17 mph. Must have needed that long sleep Saturday.
Midway point, Sunday evening Hunter's Moon ride. Actual moon larger.

Not quite fall weather here, but it was a few degrees cooler and a bit less humid. Saturday did the Picnic Is. to Davis Is. route for 40 miles. Sunday went a little further out to Flatwoods park and back for 44 miles.

Monday - Went back out for 30 miles. High winds began around 8 miles in but I was still holding on to a 19.3 mph avg at the first hour. Needless to say, the pace went downhill from there as the winds just kept getting stronger. Beautiful day out though and any day out on my Davidson Impulse is a good day.

I did an easy 18 with a disable veteran's group I support this past Saturday. Look forward to going again this weekend, if the weather holds out. But they also do a couple fat bike rides in the winter on groomed trails. Looking forwar dto that experience. And looking forward to a couple MTB rides next spring with them.
This bike was seriously overkill for the ride, my KHS will be better suited for the next ride, I think.

I was out of town this weekend on a romantic getaway (birthday gift), but I managed to pedal a few kms (20) last Monday between the rain episodes. I had to burn the extra calories (wine & beer )
