Cyclocross and Gravelbiking (Recreational) This has to be the most physically intense sport ever invented. It's high speed bicycle racing on a short off road course or riding the off pavement rides on gravel like : "Unbound Gravel". We also have a dedicated Racing forum for the Cyclocross Hard Core Racers.

Thought I had posted this here before, but looks like I hadn't...

2010 or so Performance Access XCL 9r. It was a gift from a kid (no longer a kid) I got started into cycling 25 years ago. He called it a "Monster Cross". I call it a fun ride. Bike is a mishmash of parts that work well together. Truvativ triple crankset, Sora brifters, Shimano SLX RD and SRAM X5 Fd, with Avid BB5 mechanical disc brakes. The Salso Woodchippers were both comfortable immediately but also took time to get comfortable on.

It rolls on 700x54 rubber for now. I picked another wheelset to run more gravel oriented rubber, maybe 700x40 or 42...

I've given some thought to swapping the fork for a carbon rigid fork. If I can find a suspension geometry replacement. And the more I ride this, the more I am thinking I will remove the stem riser. As much to keep the same riding position between this and my road bikes.

This was a gift to hopefully get me back into cycling 5 years ago, after breaking my back in a cycling crash 8 years ago. I did ride it a bit. But this year I finally have been really back into riding... I have no intention of racing, or riding anything super gonzo, so I lump this into the gravel category. Which is how I ride it. I have 2 road bikes and a couple older rigid MTBs.

This is a reasonable answer to my very first question,

2017 Niner RLT RDO (Made in Vietnam by humans and robots, carbon frame), designed specifically as a Gravel Grinder.
The bike is relatively quick for a gravel frame and handles chunk better than my CX bike with the 430mm chainstay, but can easily handle a 42C tire without fenders - I'll never run fenders.
All new parts:
-ENVE SES 4.5 AR rims with Chris King R45 rear/ISO front
-700x40 Maxxis Rambler DC/EXO TR Gravel or 32c WTB Exposures depending on chunk
-SRAM eTap Red 50/34 (AB ovals) w/ 11-36
-Red eTap rear derailleur, shifter, HRD levers + two Blips
-Hope RX4 calipers (yes they work with the Red HRD levers)
-ENVE road seatpost
-WTB carbon Silverado saddle
-ENVE road Stem & 48cm ENVE gravel bar (old Easton E70 AX pictured)
-Shimano XTR pedals
-Wolftooth B-RAD Mini Roll-Top Bag

Are reflectors back in style? I’ve seen a couple sets in this thread. I remember taking them off my bike as a kid, and my neighbor asking what I was doing. “Saving weight,” I said. He replied, “You might as well spit out your gum while you’re at it.” He had a point.

Treated myself to a wheel upgrade and some new rubber for the Revolt. Love the rest of the bike just as it is

I was planning on getting a new bike in February (company bonus time...) but I found this and I couldn't resist. Devinci Hatchet Carbon Rival 1. What an absolute dream compared to my Anyroad 1. My biggest concern was the SRAM 1x Rival. Never having ridden a SRAM bike before I was concerned how long it would take for me to get used to it. About 20 minutes.... I'm now a SRAM believer. Now when company bonus time rolls around it'll be upgrade time....

' love those MTB conversions. I did a conversion some years ago on an old Trek 900. I should have kept it.

My Revolt fitted with 700 x 48mm Ground Controls. Basically the biggest tire that fits in this bike. Also going to GRX 1x11, but I got impatient so it’s 1x9 right now 😁

My brother was gifted this hybrid and passed it along to me. I swapped the flat bars for drops, exchanged the triple for a compact, and threw on some 105 and sora bits I had lying around. It's the heaviest bike I own, but it handles and rides incredibly.

I thought so. I'm looking at options for pedals due to a bad ankle, now in an AFO brace. this will require me to adopt a more mid foot cleat position. Or, use a longer pedal like these to better support my whole foot.

SO, how did you choose them? How do you like them? Would you ride them on a road bike?

Thank you.Yep did it myself. Just a cheap rattle can of Rust-Oleum Satin Lagoon. Took most of the paint off with wire cup on my grinder then used Aircraft stripper for the hard to reach places. From dissassemly to finished paint took about 2 hours. I'll admit I could have took more time to paint and the couple of imperfections show it.
