$100 for a Bianchi with some chrome. I cannot identify model or year. Ad specifies medium size, 18" wheels but looks like 58 to me.
Looks like a '83 Special with TreTubi ChroMoly and mangalloy stays and fork. Might be a nice rider after a good dose of elbow grease

Very pretty, and fortunately look too small for me (no size stated). Those posts look like they are for Mafac centerpulls, not canti.

Agreed. That looks like 54cm to my eye. And the ad says 700c wheels, so that's not throwing me off.

This is very tempting but the $99 shipping is just too much. https://www.ebay.com/itm/1940s-Paris...ywY0SqgM4gL-_Q

Here are some pics. Who thinks it's worth $350?

I did not look that closely before posting originally. Granted, it's not in pretty condition, but for a complete 720 in your size, what are the chances you'll find a nicer one for the same money or less? If I wanted one (and I do want a 24", but not with lust in my eye) I'd get it. Most of the ones I see are much more. You do have an advantage buying right now, if you can swing it, and if you do get it and decide it's ugly you can always touch it up or strip and repaint it. After all, you know it's a 720, right?

I'm fortunate to be well-positioned right now for such discretionary purchases so would love to come upon a grail bike during this turmoil but I won't be foolish about it and do not recommend that others be foolish either. Good luck and shop wisely!

For the tall, discriminating road biker:

1987 Yamaguchi / Proteus - 62 cm - Dura Ace 7400 - $950 (Denver/Capitol Hill) link

1 of 25 frames built by master 3Rensho and US cycling team builder Koichi Yamaguchi while he worked at Proteus Bicycles in College Park, MD during a 10 month stint in 1987. I came across this frameset several years ago and had him confirm that he indeed built this frame as a custom build. I built it up with Dura Ace 7400 8 speed components and only ride it occasionally. Classic 80's fade paint job still in really nice shape but with a few paint nicks here and there. Tubing is Columbus with Campagnolo drops, Cinelli bottom bracket shell and rear bridge. Geometry is also very unique as it's tall but with a short top tube and makes for a very aggressive ride so not for the faint of heart.

Frame Geometry
-Top tube (CTC): ~21.25"
-Seat tube (CTC): ~24.5"
-Stand-over height: ~34.125"

Components
-Dura Ace 7400 8 speed down-tube shifters purchased NOS w/less than 200 miles (still have box)
-Dura Ace 7400 8 speed rear derailleur purchased NOS w/less than 200 miles (still have box)
-Dura Ace 7400 8 speed front derailleur
-Dura Ace 7400 aero brakeset
-3TTT Stem and Bars
-Dura Ace 7400 headset w/mixed components (never swapped out top bearing cup but I'll include the other Dura Ace headset pieces)
-Dura Ace 7400 172.5 crankset
-Dura Ace 7400 bottom bracket
-Easton Dura Ace 26.8 seat post
-Mavic ceramic 700C wheelset w/Dura Ace 7400 hubs & 8 speed cassette - Vittoria tires w/less than 200 miles
-Shimano 8 speed chain w/less than 200 miles
-Pedals not included
-Saddle - pictured saddle not included but I can provide one

This is for the pure collector and I'm only selling as I've got a space problem and need to be practical as I only ride it a couple of times per year. I'm not desperate so not willing to give this away due to its rarity. Happy to send a screenshot of Koichi's confirmation email from several years ago if you're serious.

$950.00 or best reasonable offer - not a pandemic sale

Looks like a nice bike, but steep angles as the seller notes.

1989 Trek 400 Road Bike *56cm* *Good shape* - $160 (Madison)

Dude's gonna need to learn that bicycles are horizontal subjects, if he's gonna keep selling them. A one-off ad with the camera oriented the wrong way is typical, but these "serial flippers" aren't doing themselves any favors with all that dead content above and below.

Bottecchia (?) - Do you feel lucky?

Anyone need a project? Looks like a vintage Bottecchia to me, with the fork B emblem (I think the cursive one came later?) and the chromed rear triangle with seat stays chromed all the way up. But your guess is probably better than mine to the model. Had some really nice ones in that era, TSX, SLX, SL - it might be luck of the draw. Any Bottecchia experts out there?

Not in perfect shape, but good enough that if it was my size the reason I would be posting this is telling all of you that I bought it myself.

Not great pictures, but looks like it's in pretty good shape. Cool, rare Fuji. Makes me remember khatfull 's Opus IV. That was an incredible bike.

yeah that is nice - seller is a bit clueless (aluminum frame?)but probably worth a look. too small for me..

it really does look nearly new- too bad about that one long scrape on the top tube.. looks like it was stored against a concrete wall.

Someone needs to go get this because I cannot: 1984 Trek 420 $75 Greenville, NC

With the rear rack! I might even start driving and try to run the border barricades...

Very nice. Very large. From his 1987-1988 stint at Proteus (College Park, MD).

I don't exactly have any discretionary income to be honest, but we budgeted for a used bike purchase for me to use for commuting this summer. Seller decided overnight to keep the bike anyway, so sale is off regardless of my intentions ;-).

I've been around long enough to know that being cheap up front often ends up with wasted dollars or me stuck hanging onto things that I don't like or don't really meet our needs. Therefore, I was resolved to only purchase something that would have considerable future utility for later return trips stateside and for home leave or vacation use. Which is why the 720 was in the running. I now know however, I am also right in between sizes with these Trek frames and would also like to try a 56 if I have the opportunity. I've got a positive ape index and short-man syndrome so I'm always looking for something bigger!
