Heart rate controlled erg

Can the resistance of a Kickr be controlled by heart rate.

I wish to dial in a heart rate and have the resistance vary to maintain my chosen HR

Thanks

Barry

i would think so but someone would need to write the app for it. while i think it could be done i can't see the practicality in it not to mention that the result would probably be really crappy since my heart has a few seconds of response to the work i do when on the trainer. our hearts are going to do what they are going to do and trying to control them is probably like trying to control the weather.

My coach wants me to hold a particular HR.

The technology does exist. My searches have found ellipticals with this very feature.

i did a quick search too and sure enough i found something that has it. i did not find what the acceptable range or error was but i could image that it would be quite large. something like target rate +- 20 beats or +- 10%. as well as an amount of time to allow rates to go above or below the range before adjusting resistance..

maybe time to invest in an elliptical.

EDIT: i am tempted to try adding this to a program i wrote. could be a fun engineering project.

I just got off the bike after spending 80mins at 137bpm dialing the ERG up and down manually.
I'd much rather set the "dial" to 137bpm and take a nap while pedaling.

Your "fun engineering project" would be my saviour !
