Today, I found an awesome deal on a Bianchi Pista Concept ($375) in my size and in white. Trying to justify it!

Today I rode Spokefest. Big turnout and a fun ride overall. I hadn't done any events this big before so I didn't really know what to expect of myself. There were about 2000 people - most on really fancy roadies. At the finish when my friends and I got our picture taken we were the 38th finishing photo which I estimate placed me somewhere around the 100th person across the line. Pretty happy with the way it went considering I was on a steel fixed gear .

Today I saw the Kagero order site was up. Sadly the largest size is 58 which takes it off my list of frames I want but can't afford.

Hey, at least you're not taking it off the list of frames you want and can afford.
Although, I wouldn't know what that's like. Don't have a list like that.

Rode 100K for the first time since my hernia operation in early June on my new Wabi Lightning, 44 x 15 on 650c wheels, which is about the same as 46 x 17 on 700c wheels. Practically bonked because I didn't eat, because I'm trying to knock off some pounds of fat that I gained after the operation from not exercising and eating too much. The weather has been super hot this summer, and it's finally come down to normal, which is low 90s.

TT - Good to hear... that you did the 100km and only just about bonked.
Temp here was 55F this am and the ride out was nice until the end where we got hit by some rain and it was cool enough that one could see their breath... for a few miles I thought it looked like snow.
Riding back the skies cleared and the sun came out and the ride back was very enjoyable with the temps climbing back up to the low to mid sixties which is typical for fall in this part of the world.
Was a pretty good day that only could have been made better if I had two legs that worked properly... with a fair bit of wind and some long drawn out climbs my good leg is feeling pretty fragged tonight while on the bright side, the bad leg does not feel much of anything.

I just packed up and sent my wife's gdi2 and her sidi's along its way in a iron case with a friend who'll be driving and staying over at our house in la jolla. It's been nearly half a year since I bought it for my wife and she has yet to have even laid her eyes on it. It's going to be a completely out of the blue surprise for her; the friend happens to be one of my taller cycling buddies; and my wife's bike who he's going to say is his new bike is a pint sized 48cm. I'm waiting for that delighted phone call.
