$800 for a frame that requires 40 hours of labor. Free money! Quit your job and start making bamboo bikes right now!

Plenty of Bamboo here in Kyoto. I think they usually use carbon fibre to join them..Is that correct?

Calfee uses lugs made of hemp fiber. That's gonna cost extra. Their bamboo frames start at around $2700. Here's one done up in (Sram) Red.

A Pashley Double Scoop can be had for £540.

Saw this in the bathroom of my favorite pizza place in downtown Denver. Asked an employee about it and said it was of the employees' commuter bike.

I noticed it was equipped with a full (well maybe except for the cranks, brakes and wheels) Campy Centaur (didn't check the number of speeds) grouppo.

Saw this bike. In my mind, I was screaming "WANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" It's so beautiful. It's a singlespeed/fixed (not sure) bike with a belt drive. Had a leather saddle of some sort and leather stitched handlebars. Absolutely beautiful. I saw it downtown at a place (starbucks) where tons of cyclists go, because it is where two of the main MUPs around here meet up. I wasn't paying attention, but my friend who I was with told me that a guy (who I suspect to be the owner of the bike) was watching me very closely, as I was taking pictures of his [strike]work of art[/strike] bike. If it were my bike, and some kid came up and started taking pictures of it, I would be watching him very closely too.

Here's one I found at our local farmer's market today. This is a one-of-a-kind custom build. Never have to worry about flats with this bike

Bikes: I never learned to ride a bike. It is my deepest shame.

I'm guessing they're fender mounts.

My friend rode to school today on his hybridized MTB (with slicks). Today, it snowed for the first time this year.

He doesn't even have knobbies (or studded tires). I wonder how his traction was.

My friend Hattori San has to get brakes for his fixie. New law introduced that requires bikes to have front and rear brakes. This is what he came up with:

I am staying in a small desert city in Southern Israel called Sde Boker. I am staying at a boarding school and almost every kid has a bike. A lot of them are missing shifter cables, rendering them as single speeds. I'll upload a few pictures of some of the bikes when I return to Denver in six weeks. There is web a tiny LBS that sells old (used?) bikes. I'll upload a picture of it when I return.

Interesting bike. Internal gears, discs, groovy twin top tubes, one piece front rack and bars.
