Does anyone know if Dia-Compe still makes the bolts that attach their 980 cantilever brakes to the mounting bosses on the frame? If so, do you have a part number or a resource?

The brake bosses are threaded 6mm x 1mm, and bolts with that thread should be readily available from a hardware store.

I don't recall anything particularly unique about their mounting bolts. Is there a reason you can't use any standard cantilever/v-brake mounting bolt?

...or any standard M6 bolt from a hardware store, for that matter. 20mm is a common length. You could go with stainless steel for corrosion resistance.

It's typical to include a washer between the brake and the bolt head, too.

Right, so M6 x 1.0. I know hardware store options exist, but I wanted to track down the originals because I like how the original head has a slight radius to it and is thinner than most hardware store options. The head I think is 10 mm with flats, not hex driven.

Those are old enough Dia-compe almost certainly doesn't make replacements, doesn't mean you can't find them though. Did those originally come with 13 or 14mm bolts like MAFAC canti brakes?

What others said, you should have no problem using standard M6 cap or button head bolts. If you really want old style bolts with wrench flats I probably have some. I might even have a complete 980 brake around here somewhere I could steal the bolts from.

I think the bolt is 15 mm without the head and 19 mm with the head. I'd really like to find at least a pair new, but also the part number so I can try to track down NOS.

You might want to cross post in classic/vintage. Maybe somebody can point you to some old catalog scans or something.

Just checked the Dia-compe canti I have and it's a later model with allen bolts. I certainly have Shimano or MAFAC bolts of that style if you just want something that looks the part.
