Super Strada was second from the top. All Dura Ace AX except for the Aero Gran Compe brakes. More than likely it was manufactured be Miyata. Nice bike.

It's a nice solid top shelf racing bicycle. Tange Champion DB tubing. Dura Ace AX group, except for the aero Gran Compe brakes, as stated above. It would have come with tubular tires originally, but it looks like someone swapped out the wheels. Definitely a Miyata made bike.

1984 catalog here. Most of the specs are the same.

Second from the top is a little misleading. Effectively it was the top 'serious' racing model. Usually there was another top model that was more of a novelty or aero bike, or maybe Superbe instead of Dura Ace. It varied by year. The price was usually about the same, IIRC.

The 84 catalog lists Araya rims. The rims on there are Mavic M3

The Competizione was Superbe Pro, which was the next bike down. Around then there was a lot of hype around AX so it made sense to use that on the top of the line model.

info

I have some info......on the day it was made it was arguably one of the finest bikes made in the world........of course I belong to the Miyata/Bridgestone...coven cult fanatic worshipers........in 83 there were some as nice and some more expensive but that is a REALLY nice bike
