Deore SL-MT60 Shifters Question
Can these be disassembled for cleaning or do you just have to flush out the best you can? If they can be disassembled, does anyone know of a diagram?

Check Shimano's tech document site. It's pretty thorough and has PDFs for those shifters.
Also, check RJ the Bike Guy on YouTube. Tons of videos for DIY repairs. Usually he suggests flooding balky shifters with WD-40 or something similar to work out the congealed old grease. Worked on my older Dura Ace brifters. The tricky bit is re-lubing without disassembly. I'm gonna try some fancy PTFE lube and see if it's a suitable substitute for grease.

Yeah, in other tech documents for SIS shifters, Shimano recommends against disassembling those indexing modules.

Are they stiff or sticky? A quick shot of light lubricant is all you should need with thumbies. There are no pawls or ratchets that can fail to engage.

Do not use wd-40, do not use wd-40
Use a ptfe based lube like Triflow, but if you want to clear out the gunk use electrical cleaner and hose it down, then lube with a ptfe based lube. On thumbshifters I wouldn't necessarily worry about disassembly unless very bad. Those are great shifters.

Thanks to all for the replies. I have one that is really stiff and doesn't want to shift all the gears. I'll flush and lube as suggested.
