Typical cost cutting. Bianchi only uses quality glue.

I've been through the bike, it's a real Bianchi. But if someone went to all the expense to fake this bike, with original Bianchi parts all over it that are correct for 1999, at least they used a superlight aluminum frame, so it wouldn't bother me too much! Even the sun damage on the handlebars matches the stem

I've got a 1978 Schwinn Let Tour III whose 'LeTour III' graphic on the top tube was crooked (on both sides); never bothered me. I rode it that way for years, eventually had the frame powdercoated and never put decals back on it (only the head badge). The headbadge is secured with screws and has always been perfectly aligned.

Yeah, it would bother me. I'd want to fix it, but I'd be afraid of making it worse but removing paint, etc.

Fixed now. Easier done than said, really.

- heat it up a bit w/a hairdryer, use some dental floss and swipe down the inside of the badge, clean it up.
- use some tape top & bottom to mark the vertical
- spray adhesive on, wait a couple mins to get tacky, then stick it.
- tape it down, bc it wanted to twist... the badge was warped from being wrong so long.

Bc the badge is a bit warped, I think this is as good as it gets. It's shifted 2-3mm from where it was - very noticeably off-center before, now it's maybe 0.5mm off only if you look very closely.

If it glued on by gummy stuff then maybe use some imitation banana extract to loosen it. I don't know what it would do to the paint though.

Nice that you fixed it, but I look at bikes a different way after much struggle with making everything perfect all the time! Now I accept the bikes with warts and all and let them be. Character of the machine.

It's hard to tell because in both pictures because the Bianchi head tube is not a straight on shot . I always tell myself don't point it out and they will not notice , but they do .

I’m not positive, but I think that bike might be a Bianchi? (How many times does it tell you?)

Not wanting to drive you to madness, but all the photos of circa 1999 Reparto Corse Lite Alloy I’ve found have the crooked badge. Don’t know if it was someone lazy or an inside joke, but....

To answer your other question, I broke a spoke nipple. The replacement nipple was not black. Thought I wouldn’t be able to sleep, but turns out I can sleep.

I'd have cut the chord of my bathroom light switch to saw that off, at first sight. I can't even use two different bolts to fit a bottle cage.

Camera phone, seems impossible to take a straight picture.

I'll get the DSLR out shortly.

It's still off enough to annoy me. Not as bad as it was (not by a long shot), but I'm gonna end up re-sticking it again.

You don't have to post another picture on my account. If you're satisfied that's all that matters. But your previous pictures were a bit lopsided. Kinda drove me nuts the same way the medallion and it being crooked drove you to replace it. It's all good.

Oh, I just saw your picture.... I think it's good. I see that it's not perfect but man, close enough by my eye. If anyone were to "glance" at it they wouldn't notice.
