Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Certainly if you only have one road bike and will want to go frequently back/forth between road and trainer, it makes more sense to cough up the extra dough for a direct-drive trainer IMO.
If you have to take the wheel off anyway, and then put it back on to go out on the road, why not just have a cheap spare wheel with an old cassette and durable trainer tire to change out.

Cycle Ops M2 does. No longer available from the manufacturer but I see them for under $400 online, maybe it was Amazon or REI. And the Magnus can still be had also, just not from Cycle Ops.

Did Cycle Ops get out of the trainer business or get sold or something??

edit: I am thinking I got confused. They sold their power meter products to SRAM but apparently do make some smart trainers it seems

Garmin bought Tacx, which probably means you can expect a firmware update every other week for the first 2.5 years of a product's life.

This morning I posted my second ride in the month of August. Having awakened from my nap, I feel it in the legs. Will I act on the cue to stretch? Vamos a ver.

The official story says that the pilot found himself locked in the bathroom, for 45 minutes or so, out on the tarmac, despite all efforts to free him. The flight was subsequently cancelled. The next arriving flight which might be able to bring said stash arrives in October, I believe. They flew out this morning, hoping to sell their rental house, pay off a largish credit card debt (don't hold your breath), and return South.
Both Jandd and Western Bikeworks make sew-up tire socks similar to the Cannondale bags that were standard back in my day.

Not to brag, (ok, a little) I just rode my 30th day in a row and have only had 3 days off since June 10th. I am, however, going to have a forced 2 day layoff this Sunday and Monday due to a PSMA PET scan on Tuesday. Not sure why, but I can't exercise for 48 hours prior to the scan.

So...Today some dude almost destroyed two older-model Cannondale road bikes that were on his roof rack. He passed me as I was riding home from Whole Food and turned into the driveway that leads to the store's garage. I thought "No he's not going to turn down the ramp that leads to the garage with those things on his roof."Not long after that I hear a loud bang." "I have got to see this!" I thought. Doubled back to check out the scene. He had hit the first clearance waring cylinder, which was still swinging violently, but had stopped just before the second one, which was at a level below the bottom of the saddle noses and was narrow enough to hook the saddles.
