How many days do you commute each week?

By bike, of course. Thanks for taking the poll.
I commute 5-6 days. I voted 6.

You forgot to include 0. I commute usually 5 days a week, but not always, so should I average over some time period?

I had to go with "it varies".
I was riding 4 days a week until I had to start working a lot of overtime. Now, it varies quite a bit.
I try to get in at least two days a week.

The 0 people should just abstain .
No need to be super precise. Just to give an idea about your usual commuting.

It varies.

I ride every day. I have a four-day work week so I usually commute four days. On holiday weeks it might be three or two. Some weeks I take extra shifts, so it could be five or six.

For me, the better question is, when did you last not bike commute? It was July 17, 2006. I've had 1,568 consecutive workdays (and bike commutes) since then, as of Thursday October 17.

And yet, your poll asks for numeric precision.

A "no need to be super precise" poll would ask

Never
Sometimes
About half the time
Most of the time
Always

I commute by bike every day I work - normally 5 days a week (but lately 6-7). There are only 3 days per year that I won't commute by bike: The 2 days that I need to have my car and truck inspected and the one day I have to go to a neighboring city for training.

About the poll: There were a few times when I forgot something at work and had to go back for it. Do I count 2 days or just one?

I assume you mean to work. Since I don't have a job, zero would be the answer.

As soon as someone hires me, I would change my answer to 4 or 5. Figuring that I would work that many days a week.

I am limited in my job search due to the fact that my JAR (Job Acceptance Range) is 10 feet less than I will ride my bike to work.

Otherwise, I go to the pharmacy or grocery stores two or three times and ride because the sun is up a couple more. (No lights.)

I posted 6 cause I included sunday riding to church , which is actually 2 miles further than work. ( 11 vs 9 one way)
However, my son just got a job where he will commute by truck past my work in the morning and Im thinking on rainy/snowy days riding in with him, pull my bike out and ride home after work. Would that situation still count as a commute ?

Work 5, commute 5; no extra shifts available, no O/T, it's only less than 5 if I'm sick or on vacation.

5-7, so I put 5. I commute to school 5 days a week and also ride on the weekend, but I don't have a job or classes Sat/Sun.

Just where ever I need to go I bike because I do not own a car.

It usually ends up being about 3 days a week on average. Other days an off-site meeting, field trip, or kid pickup/dropoff duties get in the way of riding. I aim for 5 days/week though

Assuming "commute" means riding to and from work, I do that 3 times a week on average.

I work from home 4 days a week, so I only commute by bike the one day I actually go into the office.

I voted 2 for 2 round trips, but sometimes I split that up between 4 days. So would that still count as 2? Maybe the poll should be "how many round trips do you commute by bike each week"?

But those 2 round trips total 62 miles of commuting each week, so it's definitely a fair amount.

Yeah, good to be clear, though I assumed that's what the poll was asking.

I commute 3 days on average. Some weeks a little more some less depending on the job requirements to have a vehicle.

For last month, September, and this month, October (duh!!), I've had a perfect commuting record, biking in everyday (unless I have a meeting out of town and that has occurred twice). This is a record for me, most months, it used to average about 3-4x/wk but I have better clothes and am committed to riding everyday that I can.

that is what I was basing it off of as well.

I work from home but I ride twice a week 44 miles round trip to racquetball practice. Though it's not my j.o.b I did put it as my "commute".

Barely two days a week now. I am getting lazy. Once my gas tank nears the 1/4 mark it will be more like 4 days a week.
