My wife has these protein bars for her diet I'm not allowed to eat, but I was hungry on Monday and had one. Now I've gone through 3 boxes which I have to replenish before she flies in.
I feel like the Dumb and Dumber guys when they spent the million and put all the IOU notes in the briefcase.

I used to play. Very rusty now.
I don't get online chess. Dudes with chess programs pretending to think up their own moves ?

I've been participating in a study by the local University on vegetarian athletes. As part of the study I had a Dexa Scan, Vo2 max and power test done last night. I haven't ran in forever but had to do the Vo2 test on the treadmill because all study participants must do the same activity. Jeez, running is hard when you don't practice it!
The cool thing is that they sent me the test results and I'm not as fat as I thought and I have a very high Vo2 max for my age!

We went from Hincapie to Castelli last year and I mistakenly ordered a medium jersey. I can barely move my arms but at least it doesn't pooch out in the stomach like Hincapie did.

Spent the morning with a guy that can do 5 min at 525W @ 158lbs. Just pretty much cemented the concept that numbers are numbers. Junior gets to go without power or HRM.

Lol. Vo2 max is 54. Interesting that I maxed out at 177 heart rate because I can get it over 190 on the bike. My legs gave out first on the treadmill!
The power test wasn't on a bike but a machine to measure watts, fatigue rates etc. The data makes no sense to me. My body fat is lower than I thought but higher than it should be, leave it at that!
The study is pretty interesting because we get compared to meat eating athletes. I feel like I break the stereotype of a skinny, weak vegan

Yesterday was my last day at my exceedingly crappy job - getting paid a good 50-60% below market, horrible boss that promises the same s*** to everyone and never remembers, micro-manager, like he wants to read emails before sending half the time, and picks on every little line in a detail (structural drawings, like for buildings and stuff). Any time we were alone without the boss it was 95% complaining about him and discussing getting out. And he hardly ever keeps an employee 6 months. I hung in there 11 months and finally got a new job in the city (SF) paying 68% more. That will more than offset the even more insane rent in the city.
Now I have some time off to try and cull all this stuff we own - trying to go more minimalist. Digging through my bike dresser (an entire dresser mostly dedicated to a bunch of bike crap), there are tons of random little plastic and metal parts for who-knows-what. Random spokes, chain links, chain pins, spare computer mount, spare pump mount, tons of random bolts, etc. UUUUGGGH I hate it!

Just went to get a snack (applesauce) and saw a little (garter?) snake had somehow found its way into our kitchen. I tried to trap it in a bucket, but it hid beneath/behind our refrigerator. Now what the **** am I supposed to do? Debating whether or not to tell the wife.

Got a Gore bikewear winter top last week. Couldn't figure out why I could barely zip it up, or breathe when I had. Then I looked. They'd sold me a medium on a L hanger...

Congrats on the job, aaronmcd. Yes, an a-hole boss can ruin everything about work. I have a good boss again after suffering through a couple idiots.
I have a truckload of old bike parts I would like to get rid of. Maybe donate to someone? Are there co-ops or places that want that stuff?

SF is an awesome town, lived there as a kid. If we could get equal paying jobs we'd move back there in a heartbeat.

Congrats on the job @aaronmcd ... I assume a move to the city will change you're group rides?
