Reflectalite lights
Evening gents!
I have a few vintage bikes that still use bottle generators (my choice) for their primary lighting (small town, ample light). I have noticed that the Reflectalite website has been down for a few weeks now. They had a good selection of led lamps that worked well with these old light sets, I have bought a few rear led lamps from Compass bikes, now called Rene Herse Cycles, but they do not have a supply of the front lights or the voltage regulators that Reflectalite had. Most of my other bikes have modern lighting, but I would like to keep these few as they are. Anyone know of a supplier I haven't found yet for these E-10 based led lamps?

Some similar bulb replacements are available here: https://www.thetorchsite.co.uk/Universal_led_upgrades.html.
(UK-based, but take international orders.) I use these, but only with battery lamps.
It is a smaller selection, but the "non-polarity" ones might work directly from a dynamo.
However, I think Reflecalite used to have dynamo-specific versions, but did not say what was different,
so there could be a problem. I think the regulators could be fairly easily made up from Zener diodes and
heat-shrink tubing.

I am no electrician, My dad has tried to explain it to me many times in the past, but I only have a rudimentary grasp of the nuts and bolts of it. I will ask someone with more smarts than I to make a rectifier when the time comes. Again, thank you for this information. Have a good evening!

Union and Reflectalite regulator

As a fan of the aesthetics of the old lights, I was happy that Reflectalight provided bulbs that worked in these classy lights. Sorry that they aren't available now.
As an electrical engineer, I've made some LED dynamo lights, and thought about ways to retrofit LEDs into my few older lights. I've got some ideas rattling around the brain, but haven't tried any out.
Has anyone ever torn apart the Reflectalight bulbs and figured out what is inside them?? That info might make it possible to hack together something similar.

Those Were the Days...
Because bottle dynamos slip in the rain , & hub dynamos don't, and the shaped beam Of Bush& Muller headlights work so well ,
I've left my old flange base Union headlights in a box.. along with the Sanyo BB dynamo .. & on the mudguard tail light I had wired up..
last use was a Battery pack.. the 2 lights drew what they needed & my Halogen headlight bulb came from radio shack ..
