I am trying to identify and value my vintage Cinelli Milano bike frame, serial number 5487. I have photos.

This looks to be a refinish and in good shape, these are very desirable, the experts will have to weigh in after more pics.

I have an SC that is a bit rough, paid a bunch, glad I did.

Cinelli serial numbers are all over the place.
the Super Corsa and Model B both had chrome
the Model B and the Riviera had other details that help identify them.

the fork if original points away from a SC.

pretty sure braze ons were added at the time of the repaint.

images of the bottom bracket shell from above looking down - non drive side will help
as well as it mages of the dropouts

problem is restoring them is not cheap.

Value is a real variable.
it has been repainted and modified.
expensive to restore.
that out of the way, there is plenty of interest in them. I can see the gavel value far in excess of sensible.
$500? With that in mind Would be a terrific sale for you.

i don’t like the look of the seat tube opening- at least the possible material loss it at a lower stress point forward.

as mentioned- measure the crank shell width accurately and know the seatpost diameter needed - there will be questions.

tailoring tape measure won't get you to any meaningful result.
you need an accurate steel rule and more.
Maybe at a local bike shop, if they have a decent tool array, they should have a seat post sizing mandrel.
These frames came at the bottom bracket shell, left to right across the frame, 70 or 74mm wide.
70 is typical Italian, 74 was Also Italian for a short time.

are we positive the fork is an original?

IIRC the SC models had a chrome / part chrome seat cluster. My "B", as many (bout not all), does have that painted. Can you make out whats unter that thick oven paint on the end of the seatstays?

SN#: What the others said about them... still it seems that SCs of that era would possibly have started with 1xxx, Bs came with 5xxx 6xxx - mostly

Looks like the same fork as my '70 Model B but the head tube lugs are definitely earlier. As mentioned, serial numbers didn't mean much at all. The seatpost looks like 26.2. I think it will be hard to date without other original components.

No oil drain hole on bottom of bottom bracket.
no round end slot windows on the side of the seat lug.
”wolf’s ears” lugs
Suggest a Model B to me.
not a total set of comprehensive images.

mentioned before, butunderstandably you are not fully versed in bicycle frame nomenclature-

Where you showed the measuring tape around the pedal crank- that is the bottom bracket- a view from the top looking down on the same side. There may or may not be a threaded port for oil.
detail of the short narrow tube between the chainstays. Called a chainstay bridge, sometimes there will be a threaded port for fenders. Chainstays the lower conical tubes from the bottom bracket to where the rear axle is placed.
The chain side rear dropout from the outside of the bike looking in (where the rear wheel mounts) it will have a tab below the axle slot.
The frame rear brake bridge. mounted between the seat stays that go from the rear axle to the seat lug.

Model B probably Early 60’s
spring hole above the rear derailleur mount hole, fender attachment boss on the rear brake bridge.

the curious and question that will probably go unanswered it the small hole on the LH seat stay at the seat lug near the seatpost binder bolt hole. Do not know why that is there- unexpected and not really welcome.
the frame deserves a refinish and removal of the added on braze on bits. Not sure as to why the hole was added other than possible enhanced flushing of the inside of the stay.
